Best website to consign knives?

You might email or call Dave Stark at Steel Addictions,I've talked with him about consigning knives and he's a Good Guy to Deal with. Also,Just a thought, but when it comes to lying-who among us can claim that they've never Lied.I sure as Hell couldn't make that statement(without Lying)Whether it be a whopper or a little white lie,it's still a lie.I've dealt with Les on a number occasions and was Satisfied (Even Down-Right Happy) with the end results. And if I wasn't satisfied Les made it right.Doesn't it say in some Historical book somewhere"Let those who have not sinned cast the first stone".What ever went on between Les and Spark was between Les & Spark in my opininion.I personally wouldn't base not doing business with someone just because of one man's opinion. But that's just me putting my 2..er...15 cents in:cool:

Hi Keith,

To give you the correct information regarding percentages on consignment knives:

Custom Knife Consignment is 25%

Robertson's Custom Cutlery is 20%

CKC carries some great knives they also have some knives such as the type that Win talked about. They take a little longer to sell, hence the little higher percentage by CKC. They did sell a lot of knives last year. CKC sold 4 of mine.

I shouldn't have posted that the percentage charged was fairly high, as it is probably quite fair.

I am a collector, seller, and in the process of becoming a maker. For the last 6 years I have been fortunate to have a scrimshander in my life who introduced me to the world of custom knives. Over the last 5 years I have developed quite the eye for custom knives - I do have a website where I buy, sell, and have been known to trade knives. Since I am not a registered dealer or maker here I won't post my website - you'll have to e-mail me for that...

To the point. I've never taken anyone's knives on consignment - I am not ready to do so. I have bought knives on-line from AG Russell's Cuttingedge and gotten great service - not to mention great knives; AT Barr, whom I consider a friend, is an absolute gentleman; his word is golden, if he says he is going to do something - he does. He has a vast knowledge of knives and has some very nice knives that are good buys.

I also have bought from Arizona Custom Knives and Circle P knives. Julie carries and sells good knives - albeit a bit more costly, but she has some good buys on her website.

I have visited most of the custom purveyor's websites; to me it looks like every aspect of the knife world is covered by someone. As far as some of the claims made - gee they just released KING KONG, he beats his chest too...I don't have 25 years of experience, but I can tell you I have some darn good custom made knives at fair prices - many makers and purveyors that I have met are more than willing to share their knowledge with you; the ones that hold it close like they have the winning poker hand - I learn from them too - how not to be....

Thanks to all my knife world friends for you support and for sharing your knowledge with me.
