Best with a 3" blade?

There seem to be a whole gammit of Spydies with a 3" blade. Different steels abound. What would be your choice for the best for EDC?
 
The Caly 3 and Sage would be the ones to look at, IMO. There is also the Native IV with CF scales, a full flat ground VG-10 blade and 4-way clip which should be out soon.

One of these 3 should meet your needs and preferences.

Yikes! I didn't know about the Native IV. My Native is the one I carry almost all the time. I keep wishing for a flat grind and better handle material. Voila! And VG10 is a great steel.

Any others out there?
 
I have fallen madly in love with the ZDP Delica with FRN handle. I also rotate my Lil' Temperance into regular carry, as I've done for years, but they don't make those anymore and they're getting hard to find. I've carried Enduras since they first came out, and that's my main EDC design, but I've been finding there's very little I can do with the Endura that I can't do with a Delica.

I will probably be getting A Cali 3 in VG-10/G10 configuration. When in doubt, get them all.
 
Wow, nice Native IV, looks classy and full flat grind to boot!

Any idea how much they run up to and when they'll be out?

Same here I have a Native One with FRN scales. I would happily pay twice as much for it to have CF scales and a full flat grind. Not a fan of G10 but it's far better then FRN. CF looks very cool:cool:
 
Theres just so many to name, Delica 4, Caly 3, Paramilitary, Native.....The first three are my favorite picks.
 
My best 3" knife if your not counting those that are slightly over 3" is my classic macarta PE Calypso Jr. If there has ever been a knife I've purchased to keep from missing out on and be glade I did it, it's this one:D!
 
If I had to choose just one EDC with 3" blade, I would choose Caly3 G10/VG10 or Persian. Both of them are great and my favorites. Persian more suits for office and dress-up occasions, Caly3 is a work knife, which happen to look good as well. Also Caly3 has FFG blade and Persian is hollow grind, both have great ergos.
 
Dang- just when I thought I'd sworn of any more knives in this range (too many already) along comes that Native IV- I know I have to have one of those, even though it will be my third version of a Native, that looks like the best of the bunch!

I would also agree with Roman(bh49) and Paul (The Deacon). I am biased as I feel the Delica, Caly 3 and the Persian are some of the greatest designs currently in production.

Possibly the Caly 3 in VG10/ G10 wold be a great place to start. It is an absolutely beautiful cutter with great ergos :D
 
Caly3 in ZDP Laminate is one of my all time favorites.

Here is one that no one has mentioned ,the Yojimbo.
It is as much knife as you can get with a 3 inch blade.
