I recently noticed that someone had a BM Panther for sale in the Production Knives for sale section. I have a Panther. It is very plain, but it is sharp as heck, and it has an adjustable pivot that helps me keep the liner for going to far over against the tang. The GIN-1 blade is very easy to get to a sharp edge. Another great zytel liner lock is my Benchmade 350. The stilleto style blade sharpen real easily also. It's a real thin and light knife, plus it is extremely easy to open. Another, newer zytel liner lock is the Gerber Mini Covert. It is a very small framed knife, maybe about the same size as a BM 705, I haven't used it much but it has a very sturdy, dual liner construction. I have noticed that CKRT Lightfoot, it looks real sturdy, but I don't know if I will get it, since most of my money goes towards higher end folders these days. Still, I appreciate a good zytel or FRN knife. For a real user, they make lots of sense. Who else, is fond of zytel liner locks?

I love my CRKT M16-03Z. By the way, I'm just about to polish the blade and steel liners.

Zytel is a great material: lightweight and very robust. It may not be as fancy and pleasing to the eye as Micarta or something like that, but it's certainly a suitable material for the handle of a user.

The 350 is one of my favorites as it is so strong, yet so light. It's easily flickable and very comfortable in hand. Another great zytel liner lock is the CRKT Lightfoot Urban Shark. Mine is built like a little gray tank. If you want a feeling for the newer Lightfoot, buy one of the old ones. Besides, it'll usually only set you back about 25 bucks.

I also like the CRKT M16s with the stiff Zytel. Feels kind of like metal.

Although I don't carry it too much anymore I really do or did enjoy carrying my BM 350.

Very lightweight with a nice, slim profile. One thing nice about the Zytel is that it doesn't cause as much 'wear and tear' on the pockets.

I have both the CRKT large Crawford/Kasper and
the new Lightfoot M1. They are both great, heavy
duty, zytel folders. I love the new M1 a really heavy
build in a easy carry size, less than 4.5".
Plus the Mako flipper is outstanding!

The M1 has some of the thickest zytel grips in recent memory. They are about a 1/4" thick and have a "gunner grip" pattern. The M1 is a heavier knife than it looks like and is a great buy.

SOG x-ray vision - superb knife, zero bladeplay, nice grinds, ergonomic and very aesthetically pleasing....

CRKT Jim Hammond Mirage. I've said it before and I'll say it again. One of the most underrated linerlocks out there. Mine is high end quality at a low end price.

I beat on mine mercilessly for two years. Good knife. I just replaced it with a Spyderco Rescue (I finally got tired of right handed clips and I got a killer deal on it).

I'll second that!!! Again and again my Mirages, especially the Zytel handled one has proven itself to stand up with MUCH more "expensive" knives and hold it's own, or even out do some of them.

My vote goes to the now discontinued Benchmade Panther series. ;) The nestled liner lock is quite strong and the integrally molded in checkered patterned handles provide the most secure grip that I' ve seen on any FRN folder. This BM folder was commonly termed as a "sleeper" in the tactical category. And made in the USA.
