Best?

Superhawk really nice knife , I cant call it best , but one of the best for sure.

I bought three folders last year and I was really impressed with the quality of all of them.

Orange Military
Sage2 RIL Ti
G-10 Endura

For the best out there, I'd say:

the ZDP-189 laminate/CarbonFiber Caly3
the M4/CarbonFiber Gayle Bradley

the S90V/CarbonFiber Military (sorry out of production)
the S90V/CarbonFiber Manix2 (sorry out of production)
the upcoming M4 Military RIL (probably sold out)

Judging more by design and usefulness as an EDC for me rather than materials used....

Military or Caly 3 / UKPK line.

Runner ups would be Manix 2, Sage, Stretch and Salts.

I'm really impressed with the inexpensive Centofante III.

I really wanted to like my recent NIB Cento 4 but the palladium bug sticks out of it's "socket", creating a sharp, rough edge all around it. Of my Spydercos, my Cento 4 is the only one with a noticable F&F issue. I'm glad your Cento 3 is a winner!

As a lefty, I avoid handed locks, but the pervasive Sage love on threads like this makes it very tempting. There's gotta be something to it...

I was also very impressed with my Centofante III. Good form, fit and finish, detent, and very smooth. I wouldn't put it at the top, but I think it deserves a spot somewhere down the list, particularly at the price. Maybe honorable mention? :)

Off my original topic somewhat: The Tenacious also seems very nice for the price. It would definitely deserve a place on a most-bang-for-the-bucks list.

As far as build quality goes I've got put my vote in for the ATR's.
The fit and finish of my Seki SS ATR is stunning, and apparently the Golden produced Ti versions step it up another level again.

I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to comment or offer selections.

Having had a chance to either acquire or handle some of the suggestions my observations so far:

Bradley - Probably comes as close to the criteria I was talking about. Tad heavy and I'm still having trouble getting use to the rather rectangular shaped front handle, but jeez it is a really nicely made and finished knife. And also would appear to be a real workhorse.
Caly 3 - Beautiful knife. 2nd place or tie to the Bradley as far as quality. CF could stand to be a bit more textured. Kind of a gentleman's knife with attitude.
Superhawk - Very nice. I'm a sucker for CF and like hawk blades. KC had it (still does) for $108, so I couldn't resist.

The Military was mentioned by many folks. Haven't had a chance to handle one yet, but I do have a question.

Why does the Military get so many comments and the Police is barely mentioned. They seem very similar, and are priced about the same.
Is it the Police a little to long?
..... blade steel?
.....handle shape?
......top lock vs. liner?
or is the Mil of generally better construction.

Just my HO, but I appreciate the ergos (droopy curved handle and choil) of the Millie. I like long, thin knives, but the Police just seems like a caricature of an Endura to me. For me, it has nothing to do with quality, steel, or lock.

My favorite Spyderco is a Ti Mili with an S90V blade. I had to swap the parts around to get my preferred combination. I also have a 440V/S60V Mili with a G-10 handle thats not too shabby.

One of the BEST MADE spydies with loving attention to detail is the Stretch, any of them, but especially that CF Stretch.

My finest examples of Spyderco quality are the ZDP Caly 3 and BG-42 Military.
The Ti ATR was supposed to be one of their most carefully made knives, and the current Ti RIL Military is probably right up there as well.

just got my Ti-mili , and I have to say this one really nice ,
