just wondering because I ordered a sharpmaker from them last thursday. still no sign of it in their tracking system(yahoo), Items ordered that are instock are suppossed to ship within 24 hours. I tried to email them asking and my the email address can't be found. Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with them? I'm gonna give benefit of the doubt right now that there are just some system errors. normally I'd just figure ita delay but the dead email adress is the main thing that bugs.
 
Strange. I once ordered something on their website that was out of stock. I received a phone call shortly after I placed my order with someone telling me so, appologizing, and giving me some other options.:thumbup:

I bought once Buck880 (about year ago) and it come with serration in the box which was marked as plain - it is hard to blame bestknives for this. I call them and they manage to find right supplier near by me and I got plain Buck880 next day. I was impressed and pleased by this kind of service.

You, probably, should call them.

I bought from them a few times with absolutely no problems. Received good service but do not think that they ever gave me a tracking number. My order just used to show up after about 10 days or so (but in my case, it was shipped a long way).

I used to deal with Mike at Mike@BestKnives.biz. Maybe you can try this email address.
 
hahaha was waitin for that just wasn't sure where to put it.

I bought Sharpmaker and ultra-fine stones from them. In my opinion, they are not great with deliveries. One ultra-fine was in back order, they did not tell me anything at the time when I placed an order, I find out about this in a week, when I called them again. I received it about a month later. If I would know, I would buy it from somebody else.
 
Bought from them lots of times.
Mike is a very nice and prestative guy.

ok I called them today, turns out they just shipped it today, a week later. so much for shipped in 24 hours, buts its on its way now and I'll probably have it sometime mid next week I'm guessing, oh well.
 
I placed an order on the 2nd and paid by paypal... The money in Paypal wasn't claimed until I emailed them on 9th asking about cancelling. It seems like they are pretty backed up or something. I will report here when the package get's here.. I don't mind a little wait if everything ends up ok.
 
Well...
Ordered on the 11th. Received email confirmation almost immediately.
Waited a couple days expecting ship confirmation w/a tracking number.
Finally called the 800 and direct phone numbers. Never got an answer, just
the recording saying to call back later.
After a week, sent an email inquiring.
Got a reply on the 20th saying if they couldn't track it they would send it(?).
Finally got a "UPS tracking number" on the 21st, but UPS says it's not a valid
tracking number.
There's now a "Track" button on the bestknives website for my
order, but it returns nothing.
The adventure continues.
Well, UPS thinks it shipped today. On the UPS tracking site, perhaps the telling line
was "BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED" late this afternoon.
Scheduled delivery is 1Mar, which is 7 business days from today.
So much for 2-6 business day shipping.
 
I decided to give Mike at Bestknives one more chance, and I wonder if I'm going to regret it.

My last order was "out for delivery" for a full day until I checked the UPS website in the morning to see what its status was. The site said they needed correct address info, so I verified that my confirmation email from Mike contained the correct address. It did, so I asked him politely to contact UPS and sort out what the problem was.

I received no assistance and eventually resolved it myself. My contact info had been left blank on the shipping label by the shipper..

My latest order has not shipped after six days(the order status has been blank since last weekend), despite their "in-stock items ship within 24 hours" statement.

My email inquiry as to whether or not some or all items were out-of-stock have not been answered...

They're still blaming the hurricane season from two years ago for communication problems according to their website.. (being within driving distance, I'm afraid I call BS on that excuse.)

If I don't end up cancelling this order, it will be the last I make through BestKnives. They may once have been reliable but that doesn't appear to be the case these days.
 
Tomorrow will be a full week since I placed my order for a BM710 and a set of Torx wrenches.

Two business days have passed since I emailed asking if any part of my order was out of stock, and I've gotten no reply.

I told them to go ahead and cancel the order if it can't be shipped by the end of the day tomorrow.

In a world with so many other options, there's no reason to deal with this crap even if the price is good. (and really, it's not all that spectactular especially considering I have to pay state sales tax..)
 
Well, rather than cancelling my order, Mike emailed me and asked if I still want the knife; that it was in-stock but the tools I ordered weren't.

I knew I can get torx drivers at Home Depot for a fraction of the price so that was no big deal. I said go ahead and ship the knife, and that'll be great.

Duhhhh.. what was I thinking? I'm back where I started; Mike's apparently having communication issues again, and my order still hasn't been touched after a week. And I can't order from someone else because I can't even get a confirmation that my order is either going to ship, or be cancelled.
