Bestsharpeningstones Strikes Again.

Damn, I wish I had checked this forum but I never had to check on a company before as I've never had any bad experience shopping online.
I ordered some diamond stones, a stone holder and the 3pack of Handamerican diamond sprays, I too was lured by the promise of same day shipping and false in stock adverting.
I got shipping notice the same day so all was good.
3 days later, usps tracking still showed pre-shipping status so I emailed Mike and and asked if there was a problem and he responded with sorry it shipped out today. He lied out it shipping out 3 days ago but no biggy I thought.

I receive the package and I see that 1 micron spray is missing. (mind you, he never said anything even when I asked if there was a problem).
I double check the package then I see on the invoice he put a note stating it was back ordered yet it still shows it's in stock on his website.

So at this point I google them and see as many of you have that he has 29 complaints with the BBB of which he has not responded to any of them.
Then, I see all the feedbacks on here and I'm like "OH CRAP"

And of course he doesn't respond to my email request for refund for the back ordered item he never told me about.
But based the past feedbacks on this forum I'm going to file a paypal claim immediately instead of waiting and waiting.

Oh and I was going to order the wicked edge propack 2 from them but thank god I didn't.
I ended up ordering WE pro pack 2 from Bob at Oldawan, that guy is awesome and it's going be here on Tuesday so I can't wait.

Anyways just wanted to let you guys know that bestsharpeningstones still hasn't changed.
 
A lesson learned, I guess. The guys on this forum are pretty tuned in to those issues - I always try to begin my search on this site -- I learned of Bob at Oldawan through this site -- he's one of the best to deal with! Good luck with the new WE -- it's a great set-up!
 
Here the deal with Bob at Oldawan , he not only gives the best service , but loves to teach and share his knowledge. I got a wicked edge Pro pack 2 and some extra stones , leathers and glass on blanks from him , good guy .
 
Yeah Bob is awesome, soon after I placed my order he emailed me tracking number/ thanking me/ provided a lot of tips and what to expect/ etc... That personal touch really shows he cares about his customers.

Oh and 2 thumbs up for paypal, I filed a claim this morning they got me my money back from bestsharpeningstones already. I told them about out the complaints with no responses on BBB and on here and I got my money in few hours.

PayPal did its job, a scammer got outed, and a good guy got recommended. Thanks to everyone in the thread.
 
I'm having the same treatment at bestsharpeningstones.com. Answering service. No callbacks. Then read the bad news on this forum (next time I'll check here first.) I cancelled the order through email and will get credit card company involved for refund if necessary. In the meantime, I'm back in the market for a Hard Arkansas Stone and a Black Arkansas Stone. Can I buy them from "Bob at Oldawan?" If so, can somebody tell me the URL? If not, can somebody recommend a good place to buy the Arkansas Stones? Thank you
 
I found the Oldawan site but it only had Lansky Arkansas Stones, not plain stones. I'll continue looking. In the meantime, if anybody has any suggestions where to find plain, free-hand, Arkansas Stones, I'd appreciate it. Thank you
 
Oh man, I'd just put them in my bookmarks about a week ago. Planned on buying several things from them.

At least you saved me some grief. I was planning on buying a set of DMT stones from them as they had the lowest prices.
 
Bestsharpeningstones has got me to I am still waiting on 2-3 day order and its the 14 day. Six phone calls and no returned call and no returned emails.Luckily I have have never been treated like this before in ordering from an online company's but this once is enough. I did use a green dot card you can buy to make this purchase so I wouldn't be giving out my credit card info,but with a green dot card you cant get back your money from the company your buying from. Very aggravating! I wished I would have checked on this company. Northstar50
 
Wow, I must have lucked out. I boought three DMT 8" plates from them and the budget 6" coarse plate. I received the fine one too and offered to send it back, they said "keep it!" That being said I doubt I would risk another order. Russ
