In attempt to generate some funds for the Desrosiers, the Alaskans who lost so much to a workshop fire, I present to you the sale of a beta titanium billet from my personal stock.

This stuff rarely leaves my cold, miserly, iron grip, so don't hesitate to take this chance to forge a very high performance sword or unstoppable custom machete. If you're feeling strong and masochistic and want to take a curious detour down the path of bladesmithing, then grab your favorite hammer and take the beta ti challenge!

The buyer of this billet will also get the basic forging caveats needed to get it right the first time, and after forging and grinding, will receive free heat-treatment for the blade by yours truly!

The alloy composition is approximately 89.5Ti 10Nb 0.5Fe forgeable, heat-treatable, beta metastable titanium.
At ~9/16" thick square stock, and 18" long, this bar can make a forged billet over 30" in overall length; mine are usually 3/16" thick with distal taper after forging, and the length can double.

A bladesmith will not be disappointed with the blade they can make from this bar stock. They'll just be agitated and easperated if they don't have a trip hammer. :D

If nothing else, it makes an Epic whoopin' stick just as-is. :D

Price: $250 shipped

First "I'll take it!" gets this express forge-your-own beta ti sword package.

If this ultra-rare space alloy billet doesn't sell here, it will go on the Facebook auction to benefit the Desrosiers. All proceeds go to them.

Thanks for looking, and best wishes for all.

Billf has chosen to spend hour after hour beating the hell out of a titanium alloy bar! Excellent choice! Expect a message this evening on how to proceed. The payment can be Paypal'd directly to: adam@alaskablades.com Please note "titanium bar" or some such thing in the Paypal.

Frank Niro: I'll send you a message!
