We finished the upgrades to our anodizing line. We put in a larger power supply, went from 35 to 70 amp Astron power unit. We also put in a larger acid bath and now have a 12 gallon set up, which means we can do some on the larger parts we have been hoping to process.
On the left is the acid bath with exhaust fans [the sulfuric acid fumes are to be avoided] Coming around the corner is the rinse sink, red cooler contains the heated dye, then the desmut/deoxidizer tank, etch tank, sealer tank on stove and last is the cleaner solution.
We have been running an anodizing line for a couple of years and it took quite a while before we were confident of the results. Every thing has to work in concert.
We increased the quench tank volume to 8 gallons and installed a better cooler. With the 8 gallons of oil we can quench 40 01 clamps in one run with the temp increasing only 35 degrees. Oil volume makes a big difference.
