Hi Guys,
are there any comparative tests on the BK9 against the usual suspects eg busse swamp rat, cold steel trailmaster, beckers own brute etc.
Some good tests on the CU/7 but can't find any on the BK9.
Cheers
I'd like to add another dimension to this: is there anything the Combat Utility-7 can't do that a bigger knife can? I mean, obviously the bigger the knife, the better it chops, but an ax handles that even better than a knife. So what it comes down to is: is there any reason to buy the BK9 over the 7?
I vote for no - but I'm biased because I don't use a knife over 7". I've got a 12" Parang but I never carry it anywhere because it's too heavy. Also living Oz, shelter building in the bush is not that necessary coz it never get's that cold. Also the wood (Jarrah amd Marri where I am) is some of the hardest in the world so chopping it dulls the best blades very quickly. The BK7 does real well with preparing food, helps chop vines and thorn bushes, digs under rocks and roots and serves as a hammer - no problem.
Guys,
Different designs for different uses.....we give YOU the choice. We find that most folks that carry their knife, and cover alot of ground[think INFANTRY], like the BK7. Users that are interested in performance....chopping, prying, ect. like the BK9.
I carry the BK7 when I'm hiking and hunting, and keep the BK9 strapped on the 4wheeler.
Hey Will - they don't sell Becker (or camillus) in the shops here as far as I can tell. I got my BK7 online. Man it has inspired some envy from the gang here.
