Better chopper, FBM LE or NMFBM LE?

Of course no one but the Busse crew knows for sure, but what do you folks think, will the extra length, convex grind and thinner blade of the NMFBM LE make for a better chopper than the FBM LE? Or will the FBM LE's flat grind and sheer girth prove superior?

Is anyone else looking for ways to pass the time until the NMFBM LE shows up in the mail? :D

I will know when mine arrives. :) But will the NMFBM LE be thinner?? My FBM LE measures .310 to .315 and is a a full flat grind. What is the actual thickness of the NMFBM LE?

I would venture to guess that the NMFBM will be a better chopper than a FBM or FFBM. The extra length is the real kicker. The Busse site states the thickness of both the CG and LE versions at .25+". Hopefully that means they will be right around .25", any thicker than that and the things are gonna need kickstands!

Maybe Jerry will chime in and let us know, but it would sure make sense for the NMFBM to be better than the FBMLE or FFBM. If I understood things right, the NMFBM is a convex grind, which makes it a lot fatter than full flat grinds, and it's longer, so it should be heavier over all...

I wonder if the NMFBM's convex grind is a harbinger of Busse blades' future conformation. It's the third in a row, after the Sarsquatch and the JackHammer.

Very true ,

I was going to bring up that point as well..

It's Ban's fault :foot::D

er a, I blame Porkerson !!!

I have Busse's with factory "zero edges", but the full convex on the Squatch is awesome

:D

I think the NMFBM LE is easily going to be the best Busse chopper so far. The extra blade length, thinner stock and convex grind already ensures it will be a better chopper than the FBM LE, but the zero-edge should put it in a whole different league!

.

One or two handed chopper???

:D

Anyone with NMFBM issues needs to grow some muscles. :D

OP wields a FFBM without issues, and he's about 107 or so. Of course, he gets plenty of riboflavin.

And the CF Hell Razor.

I can get through a two inch branch with one easy chop with my FBM LE. I have also done a good twenty minutes of chopping with no real fatigue of hand, wrist or arm. Not non-stop, wild eyed, crazy stump chopping but real, branch clearing, work chopping. Perfect tool for the job.:D

I can't imagine a job that would need the extra length of the NMFBM. I wonder if it will have a very blade heavy feel which could cause more wrist fatigue.

Batoning through 10 inch logs? :p

And for the zombies I suppose. :D

Even through my INFI addicted haze I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on one of these... I have a hard enough time finding play time for my FBMLE. This would just sit sad in my safe...:thumbdn:

Still....what if the zombies do come...and they are carrying 10 inch logs!!!!....

If you don't get one, you know that's exactly what's going to happen.

You put up a good fight Heavy. . . for that you can feel proud. . . We all witnessed it! We watched as you fought valiantly against the INFI monkey on your back!. . . . In the end. . . you still won and will be known from this day forth as "HeavyHOG Valere" Meaning "the Hog who fought valiantly and won by giving in"!

Hey, Jerry, how about spilling the beans on any possible chopping tests you've performed with this new nuclear meltdown mistress? :p

I'm wondering how well the NMFBM will stack up against this mamma-jamma:

I still want one of these, badly. A NMFBM isn't too far off, though.
