Better game knife, Buck 105/103 pro vs Kabar Becker BK62

I'm not too sure about that... The 104 has .15" thick blade stock which I think would be pretty thick for a game knife. I don't know how the hollow-grind on those performs though to be honest. The two Buck 104's that I own are both limited editions with full-flat grinds instead of the hollow-grind.
Interesting what is the thickness of 105?

Sounds to be like a great slicer.

Very slicey. The blade isn't very tall so it can be difficult to make even slices when doing food prep, but that makes it very nimble for dressing animals.

I'd much prefer a separate knife for camp chores and hunting (and even another for food prep), but if I REALLY wanted a knife that could do a decent job with all of that, while sticking with Buck, I'd probably go with something like the Selkirk.

I have a 105 and a similar knife in size is the Buck 117 just has a clip point like a 110. So if a 117 like the 105 is too small for camp chores had you considered using a Buck 119 special? I think though not as nimble as a 105 it could still be used for skinning, food processing and all camp chores.

Great knife. It doesn't get much more classic than the 119. :)

And because this thread is lacking pictures....

Great pics thanks for sharing. What's that black one? Maybe the buck 119 is the perfect camp knife / game if need be pinch / do it all knife.

The black handled one is the Buck 113. The Vanguard is kind of similar to the 113, just larger. Also I meant to say the Vanguard in the post above, not the Selkirk (which is similar to the Vanguard, but with a FFG instead of hollow).

The Buck 119 is definitely a versatile knife. As long as you're not batoning, I think the Buck 119 would do great. Both the 119 and Vanguard have stick tangs which I wouldn't trust for making kindling, but to be honest, you probably shouldn't be doing that with a knife anyways, lol.

If you want a good kindling splitter by the way... Check out the Buck 108 Froe. I prefer it to a hatchet while camping because I don't have to swing it towards my toes.
