Actually, I think that's the way I'm gonna go. I snuck away from working to check this thread and while I'm standing here my 0566 feels like a brick in my pocket (it's hot in here and it ain't even summer), so that's going to rule out the Manix since I can't get a LW with a partially serrated blade. Thanks for the input everyone....
I’ve heard good things about the serrated salt series. Everyone who has them loves them but they’re full serrations.
I cut plastic straps at work and they are the one thing that a polished edge has a hard time with. I’ve started to not care about how highly polished my edc is so I’m not taking them so high and I’ve seen a slight improvement. I’m going to try coarser and coarser grit as I sharpen to see if I can get a sweet spot.
Barring that, cut the strap through the side rather than through the flat. It causes more shearing force because of the smaller area. Much easier(safer).
