Better knifes

The Buck Strider is one of my favorite knives ever made. I know they don't make them anymore, but that was one hell of a great knife.

For anyone to classify Buck knives as a whole as "lower walmart range" is extremely short-sighted and elitist. Buck has been around a long, long time. They will be around for a long time in the future.

I am by no means a Buck fanboy, but on the other hand, I don't sell em short either. They pull off some excellent knives in addition to the dreck people bag on em for. I happen to love the Buck Punk.

usa made will last longer then any other. do you understand?

All of the brands I listed are made in the USA, moron. Furthermore your statement is severely flawed. Have you ever heard of Mcusta or Shirogorov Brothers? The first one comes from Japan and makes affordable knives with fit and finish that easily surpasses most knives from other production American companies. The second one comes from Russia and is considered to be capable of building some of the most perfect knives of this time. The quality of Shirogorov knives rivals that of some of the most famous custom knife makers in the world.

At this point, I think you are just trolling. If not then you need to catch up on your knife knowledge, you simpleton.

lmao everyone has there fav knifes and knife knowledge, so in that case i know what im talking about. good-bye

Moron? Simpleton?

You have valid points, but I believe personal attacks and name calling are going beyond the scope of friendly discussion and debate, and as far as I know are not allowed here.

Take a breather. So you hate Buck knives. So what? A ton of people happen to like them. No need for all of that.

I can tell you with great certainty that civility in argument goes a long way, because people are far more receptive to knowledge and understanding when all parties involved are collaborating in a search for the truth rather than attacking each other.

I stole that quote from another forum. Written by a good friend of mine. I think it applies here.

Was that really necessary? Any point you were trying to make is largely discounted by the ad hominem attack.

The insulting member has been infracted, lets return to the topic for discussion, please.

I have one Buck folder. It's a 110. Great knife.

I have one buck fixed blade. It's a 4 or 5" skeleton skinner of some kind. Good knife.

Don't knock my Bucks.

I love my Bucks. Like Echoil, I have one folder, a 110, and one fixed (mines a 102 though) and they are both great knives. The 110 definitely holds down its place in my collection. Its actualy my permanent "car knife". I've never used their modern folders though.

...Buck is considered to be in the lower Wal-Mart range, and Coast is simply just crap. Do you understand?

Buck does make some lower priced knives that are not the greatest and best but almost everybody has a "budget" line. Buck makes excellent knives, usually selling them for a reasonable price. Just because you don't like them and they don't cost like a Southard or Sebenza doesn't mean they're low quality knives.

As for Spyderco and Benchmade being in the "better" range of knives and above Walmart's quality level, you should know that Walmart sells the entire Spyderco range online. Go to their website and discover you can buy everything including a Southard from Walmart.com. You can even order a few Benchmade models from Walmart through outside vendors.

But I do agree that Coast, at least the Coast knives I've seen, are pretty unimpressive.

I wouldn't pick either. As mentioned numerous times coast knives are easily forgettable. As for buck? Well I picked up a USA made vantage force pro and was unbelievably disappointed with its fit and finish. Couldn't get it smooth no matter how loose the pivot was and even if I tightened it all th way down it never got anywhere close to center. I'm sorry but if that's the best they got they are forgettable to. My Chinese made spyderco persistence had way better quality control at about 1/3 the price.

Ugh. That sucks. I'd send that sucker back to Buck and have them make it right. I bet you money they will! Their customer service is excellent. They will bend over backward to take care of you.
