How To Bevel help

Inconel wouldn't make a very good file guide. Have her make you one from 1084 with precision dowel pins for guides and harden it. The best ones have a carbide face soldered onto their faces but it's not necessary.

Yours won't harden. They don't have sufficient carbon to be heat treated.

Good info. Thanks Kuraki. I may be able to talk her into that.

After about 30 sec. I realized the value of a platen. It will be a month or two. But any suggestions. Are the more expensive ones worth it? Is the glass needed? I saw some with two different size wheels, is this pointless if I plan on getting a small wheel attachment?

Different wheels isn't pointless but isn't necessary either. Glass I consider necessary though some people use a hardened steel plate. Price or which to buy I can't really say I make all my grinding equipment myself other than the wheels.

Lots of hand sanding to do still, but the beval is looking better. Don't know if I am going to blue the blade again. We will see

Yes , bevel look much better now .But that tool is not good for hand sanding blade , blade will flex .... that tool is good for sanding handle .So , put some thick flat steel under blade / longer then tip of knife so you can t hurt yourself / or take some angle iron in vice and fix knife on top of that ...........
