Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Not that I'm keeping track or anything  but does anyone else have some concern for this young fella showing up in a lot of these "beverage" posts? Does this kid have parents? Yeah there's cake but I bet there's more than eggnog in that glass :( and the knife

My neighbor/hunting and fishing buddy works in an job where very nice holiday gifts are a business tradition. He received some fine Scotch and cigars from one of his vendors. He doesn't like Scotch or cigars and, after work on Christmas Eve, he dropped off an additional holiday gift for me.

After the second glass, the bottle had straightened a little more to the left.

You guys have definitely been thirsty in the month since the last time I visited this thread. Took a little while to catch back up ;)

After a very frenetic past few days with family over Christmas (which was also quite enjoyable), the wife and I have the evening to ourselves. Time to get a little well deserved relaxation on :)

Down to the last drop, well-earned relaxation:thumbsup: As a Euro I don't claim to know much about Bourbon but I do like that Bulleit (funny I like American whiskey and dislike Scotch or Irish whisky completely:D) Managed to import some tax paid from Germany, by-passing our draconian alcohol laws;) Bulleit is well over 50 USD a bottle here, that all went fine but then PayPal started going off on one about me buying 'illegal' products aka Cuban Rum:eek::rolleyes: I pointed out it's a legal trade inside the EU tax paid, not importing Cuban products into the US nor buying direct from Cuba, not using US currency by a non US citizen bla bla.;) Whatever, both the Bourbon and Rum have tasted good-can't really take too many pix at the moment due to darkness, but the longest night is over and saw sunshine (no I did, not DTs:eek:) today for a whole hour:thumbsup:

Look what one of my sons gave me:

Talk about being filled with Christmas “Spirit”! :D

I like that you left as much as you took from the bottle. Nice trapper, too, Mike. I like their rye as well.

Thanks. The poor bottle did not last the evening. This morning I'm actually glad there wasn't more in there ;) Planning on an outing for a replacement, but it will probably be Woodford Reserve next. I'm not too adventurous, and tend to alternate between those two.

I've not had this one before but it was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law.

- wonderful, Dylan..........that is nectar. Hopefully you'll enjoy as much as I did.

Maaaaany years ago I was able to fish the Helmsdale in Scotland. A beautiful drive from the lodge we were staying in, was the Garvault Inn (at the time in the Guiness Book of Records for being the most remote inn) and we spent an evening there trying just a few whiskys and malts. The one, the only one, that stuck in my memory was Highland Park - a honeyed glowing finish of delightful eye misting power.

I have always liked Highland Park, and regretted not taking a tour of the distillery in Kirkwall, Orkney, when I was there.
