I purchased two knives before Christmas and paid for two day shipping. They charged my card for the product and shipping and got an email a day later that they were out of stock. I called them and they informed me that I would receive them by New Years. I checked on the 30th to see if they had updated the status of the order and nothing changed. I called again and was told they would get to my house the 2nd. Same situation happened and nothing changed. I called again and was given a date of the 5th, then again and was given a date of the 10th, then the 14th. During this whole time I was plagued by constant "we're closed" messages from their voicemail, lunch hour closing, and hour long holds followed by "we're closed."

I emailed them again today about the issue since they claim to be closed to attend SHOT show in Vegas. They emailed me that they would ship until the 20th. They continue to give me many excuses and have not shipped anything. Their customer service is horrible. Many others have complained about this store.

Fellow members, stay away!! It appears they may be the same people as Blade Shop who also had very negative reviews!!

Moved.

Discussions about knives go in General Knife Discussion.
Discussions about deals or dealers go in FEEDBACK.

How and when did you pay? PayPal or your credit card will return your money if you contact them expeditiously. Don't let a scammer hold you off until it's too late.

BladeAuthority and TheBladeShop have similar IPs and both are in Tennessee.
BladeAuthority has no posts here and TheBladeShop hasn't been active since 2008.

It was with a debit card. I reported the incident to BBB; tomorrow I'll be calling my bank.

The 3B doesn't have any power in this matter, there were pages and pages of entries about The blade Shop a couple years ago. They run several store fronts all lead to the same place in TN. I ordered from them years ago, and when I got the run around I simply called my bank and let them take care of it. I suggest you do the same. Use the list of paid dealers in my sig for quality vendors.

Looks like they got me too. I Ordered the Benchmade 940 which was listed as "In Stock" on February 2, 2014.
I called Blade Authority a few days later to check on the delivery date.
I’m told the following: “Your order for the BM940 Benchmade Osborne 940 is on back order. We had an inventory discrepancy and the very last one was sold before you order was placed. “
On Feb 11,, 2014 I received the following: ”We expect these in one week. We will ship as soon as it comes into stock.”
Long story short: I asked for a refund and they agreed it now April 7th and I have not receive a credit to my account.
I have reported them to the BBB.

Again, the BBB isn't able to do anything other than report your complaint. Call your bank and file a complaint. It's amazing how these folks actually make a living with business practices like this.

This is true, I 'm just trying to warn other's in the community.

I think with the bbb you need to have something written, letter, and proof, send it to them. Other wise they will listen and say they will do something, but nothing will happen.

If you google Blade Authority..you'll see you aren't alone. Apparently they've been at this for a while. Now I couldn't even find an actual "store link" , only complaints. they got me in 2012, so good luck, folks. I'm glad is was only $65.

The Blade Shop almost got me, but I called my bank a spoke to the fraud prevention department. They asked for a summary of events, including dates and amount of the transaction, and any emails, and their contact information. After that it took 2 business days to get my money back. The guy I was talking with mentioned that the BBB has no authority to assist in these matters, other than compiling and providing a public record. I wasn't about to let them take me for $75. I did file a complaint with the FTC at the request of my bank, the rep told me that would be the best way to reach out to them in a way that lets them know that what they do isn't right.
