I was ripped off on a deal we did over on another forum.
His name there was HOLOTMO.
Here's the gist
7/7 - Holotmo commits to buy my Prybaby
7/9 - Holotmo posts stuff for sale and I ask him if he wants to trade an H1 to offset some of the Money order due me.
We communicate and agree to trade Holotmo's H1 plus cash for the prybaby. Holotmo posts same in his sale post.
7/19 prybaby gets delivered to the business address Holotmo gave for delivery of the prybaby.
From 7/19 to 7/22 I send several emails and posts here, as well as pm's to get Holotmo's attention
7/22 - Holotmo sends me an email stating that he was busy, just saw my emails and posts and the H1 and $ is sitting on his table, packed, ready to go out. And that he hasn't seen the prybaby but he checked the tracking number I supplied to him when I mailed it off, and USPS says it was delivered on the 19th. Holotmo requests address verification where I sent it to and a description of the package. Holotmo also states that he will send me tracking number when he sends the H1 and $ to me.
I supply his requested info.
7/22 till today I hear nothing from Holotmo. I send a few email and pm asking ....What's up??
7/28 I post the above, another email, another pm and a query in my sales post
I understand folk being busy. Most all of us are busy.
Usually if you can post in a forum you could answer emails about the status of something of import.
Since then he gave me a bogus fedex track number and I now get cut off when I ask for his voice mail. Tho I know he's in the office.

DAVID McCUTCHEON IS A THIEF!!

Tom
Edited to add that I do not know if he's here.
But a heads up anyway.

Esav, If I knew you wanted it, I'd have gladly given it to you.
For you are a nice guy.
See ya on the 18th
Tom
and the above is not jest. Ed is a truly fine fellow.

The rest could be a misunderstanding, but THIS is just plain suspicious. I can see it now. "If soandso calls I'm not here or just hang up on him."

Call back and tell the receptionist you're his doctor or something.

Yeah! Change your voice to that of a sexy sultry girl or something...always works for....errrr...wait a minute. No it doesn't work for me. Forget about it. ;)

That dude should be banned and im sure they would, out of all forums "USN"(sorry to mention by name) has a particular dislike for poor ethics! They will hammer(bann) him for such activities in a heart beat, they are always ON TOP of stuff like that!!!! let the mods. know what went down.
Loandr.

A true shame, Tom. Sorry to hear of your troubles. No fun at all.

Is he here on bladeforums? what username?

He has been restricted to only being able to post in the thread that Tom started about this this on USN. Of course he hasn't had the guts to make an appearance there.

Folks, lets keep the USN references to a minimum, please.

We appreciate the info being posted here. However, in the future, if you made a deal on another site, and it went sour, please use a generic forum reference such as 'another forum I frequent'.

If other members here want the forum name, please use email.

Thank you.

I guess it has to be a balancing act. Whenever I see anyone mention another forum on TGB&U without saying which forum I always ask them which forum, and I would rather they said in the first place. Of course we don't want people stirring up cross-forum flame wars either....

Touchy subject matter.

But the basics are valid, I think. When a person rips off someone in a deal. I believe that it's a duty to post as a warning to others to put a keener eye on the deal.
I know that I appreciate it when informed either in a post or via call or email about "bad" experiences.

I'm not talking about deals that have sour notes to them cause of vacations or life situations, but real bad intentions.
Tho I've been blessed, as have most of us, with enviable dealings with fellow forumites :)

I describe some of my deals to loved ones or folk I enjoy and they're flabbergasted that I'd send $ or an object of value to someone I don't even know in the traditional sense.

Without HONOR you're nothing!
And all we have is our honor and "virtual" reputation!

Tom
this reads ok to me but I've done lots of pain meds today :)

We can tell. ;) :D

I think this is the most widely used knife "feedback" forum on the web so it's nice to have a warning here even if it occured on an auction or another forum.

I do agree that naming forums is bad form. I hang out on quite a few and I think it would be ugly to have some sort of culture war between them.
