Be careful in dealing with Lauren Taylor, goes by L.Taylor.

Lauren placed an order for several custom sheaths and then payed via paypal. After receiving the items payment was stopped. Lauren told me the sheaths were very nice, but there was some fraud on her bank account and it would be straightened out soon.

Paypal froze my account for several days. Lauren kept claiming I would be paid soon, but this all started on May 10th when I finished 4 sheaths. Pictures were sent, paypal made and then payment was stopped. L.Taylor has even sold some of the leather on this forum to other members having never paid me for them.

Paypal has been no help at all in this matter.

Thanks for listening, I had to vent!!!

Sorry to hear my friend. I'm a customer of yours and think you make some of the nicest leather sheaths out there. Any more details you can post on some of the personal information about this individual for the thread. Karma can strike from a multitude of directions.

Wow Chuck, this is the same deal that happened to both of us, by L.Taylor earlier this year, and she came through on the payment on my end.
You still have not been paid? And she is selling them too? That's just wrong:thumbdn: Looks like no more sheaths for L.taylor.
Hopefully you do get paid.

Thanks for posting this.
Al

and yes Chuck's work is Top Notch:):thumbup:

That is the reason that I never use Paypal when selling anything, anywhere - there is no protection for the seller. I hear of these situations on different forums quite a bit. It really sucks.

Well if it means anything to you, I had no idea about you, nor your work before this thread. However, now after checking out your website I am very impressed. I will definitely remember you next time I need a sheath :)

Same here. I just sent him an email about a sheath I'm wanting. :D

Chuck, this situation just blows :barf:

What is it with some people ripping off sheath makers lately?

Both you and Al are good guys who do great work

Thanks for the heads up. I have to ask though, why haven't you given l.taylor a negative feedback score? Upon looking at their profile they still have 100 % positive feedback. As Lt. Aldo Raine puts it, give em a little something they can't take off.

Looks like L.Taylor last visited the Forums October 19.
Gold member. Full PM box. Looks like 99% of the activity has been in the For Sale areas.

If it were I, I'd contact the mods and see if they can contact her and make her aware of this thread.
If resolution is not found, they can ban.

I've had several positive experiences with Lauren, one being that I shipped a trade blade long before she could ship mine to me. It arrived to me with no problems.
As for communication, I observed that she goes a week or two between logging in here.

I sent her email 10-29 with a link to this thread and asking for a response.

If the deal was to ship by U.S. Mail,. see the Postal Inspectors regarding federal felony charges. It is a felony to use the U.S. Mails to defraud a party to a transaction. Most find prison to be very unpleasant and life-changing.

Chuddy Bear, it looks like I was one of the ones who bought one of the knives that included some of your leather work. If there's any upside for that, it was an up-close and personal introduction to your excellent work.

I look forward to working with you very soon.

Kent
