OPM is a seller on another auction of which I will not mention, but 99% of it's sales are Auto's. I have been trying to find a way to warn people about him, and now I found it. Anyway here is the discription of one of his auctions, and I will explain more after... This is a cut and paste, so this is his actual description.

"Boker Stars & Stripes Special Series, these knifes are all custom engraved and "NO ONE" can every have the same type, we have made that impossible for anyone to do. Knifes are all German Boker Top Lock units and are all in immaculate condition. Large picture shows units in all oak wood display case 12" X 9.50" with tung and groove construction and all brass hinges. Other pictures show front and rear viewon units, all American Flags on the front and Flowers on the rear. This is a one of a kind collection and can not be duplicated by the original craftsman. All units are factory Boker American Flag Series Blue, Red and White Bone."
Here are the key words that are untruths in this Bull _ _ _ _ description ... "SPECIAL SERIES", "CUSTOM ENGRAVED", "AND NOBODY CAN HAVE THE SAME TYPE", "WE HAVE MADE THAT IMPOSSIBLE TO DO", "THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND COLLECTION AN CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED BY THE ORG. CRAFTSMAN", AND LASTLEY "FACTORY BOKER AMERICAN FLAG SERIES, Now! maybe I'm naive, but I'm also a Vet, and when I see something for sale w/RED, WHITE, and BLUE, ONE OF A KIND, Factory Boker, can never be reproduced. Well, I buy if it is worth it. I bought it for $800.00! Yes, you can laugh.

I was a good customer of Joe's and he tried to screw me, not only me, anybody that won that bid... I got the ONE OF A KIND piece of garbage that should of cost $300.00 at the most, and that is really streching it. He didn't even smoke a cigarette after he got through with me. ha! ha! They were three Bokers that were bought seperately with different color inserts, and he sold them as a ONE OF A KIND. The only truth was that they were factory Boker, But ONLY THE INSERTS, and not sold as a set either. He down right LIED!

There is much more but it would take too much typing, so to shorten it, just let me say this...I sent it back, and he got pissed and he tried to get me kicked off the auction. I gave him a bad feedback, and he got it taken off, and that wasn't the first time either. Thats why he has such a high rating he has all the bad stuff taken off. I also did business with his bother-in-law RayJay with no problems, and he will not give me a feedback because of his relationship with Joe, and that is not professional. The auction owner agreed with me, but did nothing because Joe generates a lot of money for him. I must tell you I spent a couple of thousand in a week with them, so I was not just a casual customer, and that's what hurts. Joe lied in his discription to ROB money from me, or anybody that had bid on that bogus ONE OF A KIND SERIES. So BEWARE OF "OPM" he does not save you money, he has no morals, and worst of all he is a damn LIAR. I just wished the dealers, and knife makers that he buy's from, and all the people that buy from him knew what kind of a guy he really is. Thanks all for bearing with me. :-)

Hmmmm.... lying on the description of an item is supposed to be enough grounds to give him the boot on auction sites... at least as far as eBay rules are concerned.

Though, sad to say, if they do generate income for the site, then it's going to be hard to implement that rule...

Sad, isn't it?

Hi narruc1,

Did you use the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE (including e-mail I believe) to in any way facilitate the transaction.....

Mario

I guess that you can not pick your brother-in-law.Ray has been more than fair with me.

i have dealt with joe and ray and will do so again. never had any problems with them, or for that matter , any of the dozen others i have gotten knives from . maybe i'm just lucky .

I'm happy for you JC, and i'm sure they didn't get there rating that high by cheating everybody. If you read and understood what I wrote you would not have written what you did. I said... I never had a problem with Ray! The only thig I got put off by was, that he did not give me a feedback. So why should I deal with a person that will not do the right thing? Second thing... I just said beware of Joe's descriptions, because he streches the truth. Besides I do not buy the sub $50.00 knives, and I also like to buy from real knife people.

Bob

Been there done that. My feedback for opm was also not a +. It did not even last a day before it was removed. I don't buy from auctions anymore.

I think it is only fair to have a balance of feedbacks not just what you want others to say or to agree with the tone of the topic posted'
That said here is my comments:
I have bought 3 knives from Joe .
They were all delivered super fast , as described and at a price I could not beat anywhere on the internet.
I have had offers from him on other knives and I did not buy because I thought I could beat the price.
He was very polite and even suggested other places I could look.
Why do some collectors begrudge a dealer
a fair profit?
This is the free enterprise system.
Cars, groceries, clothes, and every consumer product are marketed this way.
It seems to me that knives are better regulated by consumer networks (like this one) than any other I can think of.
Buyers remorse and disgrunteled customers are a fact of business.
You have had your say and I hope it is taken on balance because without dealers like Joe and the others we would all go back to the days when knives were traded
on the steps of the General Store while everyone was whittleing on a stick.

If I were Joe,I would give the guy his money back.So long as this is up in the air,I won`t deal with him.

The way I read the first post in this thread,it sounds like he got his money back.
I am in business and there are some people who I am much happier when they deprive me of their $38.50 orders that they do nothing but complain about.

I agree with Drac I had same problem with OPM beware.

I may be missing something here.
Did anyone not get a refund?
I can understand some frustration
if no refund was provided. Infact I can see anger if no refund was provided, but I do not think anyone is saying that.
What I hear is a buyer that was unhappy
for a good reason or a bad reason that is intent on harming a mans livelyhood.
WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT????
Now I am going to make it a point to buy from JOE.
THESE POSTS ARE CHILDISH!

crp4,

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!

This is the place to vent about things like this. I am glad your deals with joe went Ok. I used mine as a learning experience. I now buy from other knife people. I had the exact same experience as narruc1 did. I was lucky that the amount of money was less. The money is not the point. Honesty is.

crp4 sounds like someone to avoid as well. There are lots of good dealers out there.Who needs this?

I,m sorry if you misunderstood my reply.
I am in a business, not the knife business.
As far as people to avoid go,Ghostsix sounds like an excellent place to start.
Apparently at least one dealer of KNIVES has refused to do business with him.
.
Please don`t call Washington DC on me.HAHAHA

No,he took my money, and owes me one,as agreed.People who know nothing would be better off not advertising it.

Knives are for big boys.
I think the Beanie Baby forum would suit some knife collectors better.

crp4,I handled my own affair;butt out.It is none of your affair.I`ll deal with the dealer in question.I don`t need your limp platitudes,or unwelcome advice. Now if you did know anything,I would reconsider. This is not even my fight.
So far as avoiding me,I have an impeccable reputation, ask anyone.I have never cheated anyone
,and I am sure not going to start now.

somewhere in our Capital.
I am not buying it .

That said,be aware I will say whatever I want whenever I want.
In all seriousness you sound like a mental case.
