Beware of this scammer that goes by these multiple names.

Hello fellow members,

I was in the middle of making a deal with a member and almost got scammed, but luckily caught on to it. Here is the names to aware of:

Redrozintx2003@aol.com
Banddd9917@gmail.com

Your email is in at least one of your posts, that's almost certainly how they contacted you.

Remove emails and definitely do not respond to random emails. If there is a any inkling of doubt, go back in the thread to clarify if you're speaking to the correct person.

I was in a middle of making a deal last week on a knife and was waiting for a reply on the forum. In the middle of the deal the seller had agreed to sell the knife to me, around 10 minutes later I received an email from username "" From: Banddd9917@gmail.com. The email stated:

"Hey man,
Consider it yours. $___ shipped. PayPal info is; Redrozintx2003@aol.com Send via F&F no notes. Also, provide your shipping address.

Thanks!"

I noticed that the price confirmed in the email was not the agreed upon price on the forum - this raised a red flag for me. I double checked and notified the seller on the forum before sending payment and confirmed that was not his email address.

I am not here to cause any drama, just want to let people know on the forum to be aware. I wouldn't want anyone else to get caught up in the same situation and get scammed.

You’re email is viewable on the forums and that’s why you were contacted by a scammer… not Knifensupply Knifensupply .

This scam has been going on for quite sometime and will continue as long as members keep posting their email address for the world to see.

As has been suggested repeatedly, conduct transactions via DM and ignore emails.

Im glad you realized they were a scammer, like the admin said don’t share your email. You could send me a direct message before you list my name on that list but it’s fine.Have a nice day pal.

Mods can’t do anymore to protect people. I’m losing empathy for members that get scammed. The thrill of the hunt has disillusioned too many.

Basic membership and communication through DMs would probably prevent 99% of all scam attempts...

Then why quote his email if so concerned??

The only way to stop this is to make the exchange only viewable to paying members.

Why would that make it stop? Scammers can just pay the $30 to view the Exchange and keep on doing what they're doing.

If they paid for a membership, they would at least be easily identified.

It’s gotten to the point where I have no sympathy for those being scammed.

I’m amazed by the members who steadfastly refuse to spend $10 for a Basic membership which allows the ability to DM and contact the seller directly but in turn have no problem sending hundreds of dollars F&F to unsolicited emails… reap what you sow I suppose.

Some people just have to learn the hard way. That doesn't mean you or I need to sympathize with them. My gold membership expired earlier this week. Took me all of two minutes to re-enlist.
