Beware of tundratrader

I have hesitated to send this message for many months. I kept hoping Zach would make things right, but I don't guess he will and I would hate for someone else to get stuck.

I bought a camera from Zach on the forum in December 2011 for $300. It was to be insured and I wasn't worried due to his number of posts and time on the forum. The package was lost in the mail and Zach even received a partial refund that he showed me, but he said he was going to appeal. To make a long story short, after many emails and even a phone call, and many promises, I have yet to see the money. This is some serious money to me and has created a hardship at a time when funds were running low. However, that is not the main point.

I don't know what the situation is now, as I sent a private message to him on 5/21 through the forum since his personal email account had been disabled. I have yet to get a reply so I figure it's time to send this distasteful message.

He's had other issues with a foreign sale so this is sad to hear.
6 months- there’s a problem here.
 
Bummer to hear. I've dealt with him in the past with no probs.

I've read the overseas thread and that whole deal is a mess as well.
 
After reading through that other thread about tundratrader there seems to be 2 trends with him:

1 is lost packages and 2 is once he has your money he could care less about you.

I hope everyone avoids him like the plague in the future.

Insurance on a package is to protect the seller and NOT the buyer. I've never understood why a seller would make a buyer pay for their insurance. I've never dealt with him personally, but he did appear to be a good guy, something must have happened along the way and he just decided to stare at the sun too long. We don't need people like this on the forums though, it hurts the entire community. I sent him a link to this thread, let's see what happens.
 
Yea...I had a sinking feeling after reading the foreign transaction thread that there'd be more threads like this one. Looks to me like someone just decided to cash in on their good name and the good will of other forum members.
 
This is really unfortunate. I have a bad feeling this is becoming a problem with him. It seems he is slow to respond, and usually has excuses for delays.
I hope it works out for you.
 
Thanks for posting. Appears that Tundratrader has taken a turn for the worst and this will be good info for others to aviod dealing with him.

I am of the mind that a ban is in order. This is the second person to come forward with something like this regarding TT.
 
You should post about it at CPF marketplace not here as far as I know he's been banned from here.
 
I had a very drawn out affair with him over a backpack deal. He got my money back to me after many months and excuses. I gave hime the benefit, and he came through finally. But after reading these other stories I'm going to have to make this known. Zach, hope you get your act together, and please stop doing deals you can't deliver on in a timely fashion.
 
Just a suggestion but maybe a nicely worded E-mail to the Homer Alaska Fire Department's Chief explaining and advising that one of HIS Firefighters has committed numerous thefts on BFC and that soon one will google the Homer Alaska Fire Department and start seeing these threads

I believe he is employed by the Homer Public Works Department so maybe an E-mail to the boss there???




Who knows if will help, it cannot hurt................

Tundratrader is still at it. I noticed today he posted a XM-18 3.5" for sale today on knifeforum for $550.00 shipped! A real steal of a deal huh! Stated the only acceptable method of payment was by Western Union! Wonder why? Lol ! He is still at it!

Always disappointing to read about dishonest people on here! Its such a great online community it really sucks that we have dirtbags come in here and prey on us!
 
I am one that has been ripped off by tundratrader. Got the same car downpayment and baby bullcrap as others. I contacted the Homer FD. He no longer is working there but their Chief seemed to be not surprised by his actions. Clearly he screwed that job up. The chief also gave me the contact info for an Investigator Kuhns at the Homer PD to reach out to about this issue. After I sent that email to the fire chief today, I finally got contact back from Zach after over a week, only a few hours later. He said he would work on refund and that he is not home and he cannot get his wife to send the knife because she does not know which is which. Not really buying it but whatever. I am giving him one week then I am calling the police. Anyone else that got ripped off email me at JHMOVING@GMAIL.COM and we can coordinate.

Wouldn't hurt one bit.

I highly doubt they'd want someone like this working for them.
 
The post above yours says he no longer works there... Not surprised based on his actions here and other forums...
 
Thought tundrat said homer was a volunteer fire department? Seems he is still using Mr. Hinderers program to for discount for fire fighters. I have to assume he is still fighting fires somewhere in alaska?
