Just a heads up.......

Took an order about 3 weeks ago for a tomahawk being sent to Estonia, Russia. Credit card went through fine, sent the order, customer received it just fine, customer was happy, too happy I guess.

Got an order from the same city for another, I was excited figuring the customer was really happy and told all their friends and now they were ordering.........NOT!

The first CC the new guy gave me had a permanent block as it was stolen. The second card he gave me was some poor customer in Italy's card.

It's a CC fraud ring. Luckily I'm only out one tomahawk. It hasn't been charged back yet but I'm sure it will be if it ever all gets figured out.

Paul wants to put on the website that any orders from Russia have to be paid by Western Union or International Money Order but I thought that seemed a little predjudicial to single out one country but we have a LOT of regular customers from overseas who we accept credit cards from. Should we change our policy overall EXCEPT for the regular customers? Won't that make it more difficult for international customers and maybe shy them away from ordering? I'm hoping that most international customers will understand.

I will tell you that the first order from Estonia set off alarms but the CC was approved and I even verified with my merchant account company that the card was good - what I didn't do was call the issuer of the card - in this case Citibank and verify all the information with them like address, customer name, etc. The customer gave me the CVV code (the 3-digit number on back) and when you have that you normally have the card. Well theives have gotten smart.
