Beware: Paypal Scam - IMPORTANT

I got one of those about a month ago. Tried the link, which just shut down my browser (benefit of using non-"standard" computer and software?). I went ahead and canceled the accounts PayPal had on record though, and never did follow up with PayPal. Thanks for the headsup Dan, this one would have snagged me and I consider myself pretty careful...guess I'm not as good as I thought.
 
Man-O-man...I have received that e-mail & one from E-Bay as well saying that my account "may" have been tampered with & that I should update my account info. for my safety.

Oh no you didn't! ;)

I just delete them. It said if I didn't update it, then my account would be closed :eek:

GOOD! I spend too much on there anyway, so what diff. does it make to me other than saving me $$$$$$$ :D

This "scam" has been around for some time now. I nearly got caught about 6 weeks ago but luckily I checked with paypal first. Maybe they tried it out on us Aussies first thinking we were more gullible. Needless to say it is one of the more professional scams about - one has to be sooo careful.
 
Alas, I fell for it. However, within a minute or so. my paranoia cut in and I decided to change my password on general principal. The change was accomplished in < 5 minutes, and nothing bad happened. BUT NOW I'M MORE SUSPICIOUS THAN EVER!!!! :grumpy:
