Finally got the knife today. Had to pester him every day, he finally started responding to my emails and shipped the knife

We made a trade deal from my last trade post Reates and Spydercos

I sent him the positron and the large lionsteel for a Rubicon.

Trade deal was worked out via email. He got my knives Friday, 11/25. Will not ship the Rubicon.

Please pm me if you know his forum user name.

You don't know his forum name? How do you know he is even a member here? You've had quite a few issues with folks. That sucks. Have you thought about being more selective with who you deal with? In the least make sure you know the forum name of the person to do just a bit of research on who they are here.

Ya and I have been ripped off by our good members once or twice.

I know. Maybe this is why. Serious suggestion. Research people. In the least know who they are here. You don't even know who this person is on BFC, correct? Do you see a problem with that? I do. You are sending your stuff to a complete unknown person. Trading is also the easiest way to get ripped off. Maybe take more precautions when doing the most risky type of transaction. Just sayin....

Just to be clear. Is he cancelling the deal and returning your knife or has he told you he is just taking your knife-tough luck, or have you not heard a response as to him sending the knife promised?

Don't know if this is the case, but having your email address listed in your trade/sales thread is a sure way to have strangers outside of BF to contact you.

Good luck on getting this resolved positively.

You are correct. I will have to remember that going forward. He may not even be a member.
I revised my trade thread and took out my email info

If you can't get this resolved privately , you could send a letter of complaint to Penn. State. I presume they would frown on such activity by their students.
It's been along time since my college days, but I presume they still have their own police.

This is true. However, you can always ask for their username before you deal with them. I list my email but I always ask for their username if they didn't post in the sales thread or otherwise provide their username. This community is fantastic and there are many ways to protect yourself so long as you take advantage of them.

Seems he is an accounting major at Penn State. Hard to believe he is willing to risk all for a free knife. I'd keep some pressure on.

Have you sent him a link to this thread? He should know about it and the fact that you posted his personal information. Might help.

Will not deal with him ever again.

So 11/25 to 12/1, that's 6 days. It was Thanksgiving Holiday. Take a load off guys :)

Craytab, you should take the man's personal information out of this thread.

I sold twelve items to 4 separate buyers on 11/23 and managed to communicate with them all despite the Thanksgiving Holiday. I made it to to the post office on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and had tracking information to all the buyers 10 minutes after I left the post office. I suppose that is just too difficult for some adults to manage.

unless I misinterpreted something it was a trade and it has been 6 days since the other party received the OP's end. OP should have been given tracking and received his items at about the same time unless otherwise agreed. Even if the OP did agree to send 1st the other party needed to give him the game plan on receiving the knife. I am not a big fan of the trade-just many parts that have to connect to get a successful deal, but others seem to like them.
Hopefully all is in order now
However I do not know what was used to verify the delivery, and It is possible the other party just got back and picked up the OP's package, but if that is the case he should have let the OP know prior to his mailing that he would be out of town for the holiday. IMO

Done. Op should not find himself in so many of these situations.

The personal info is still there in post #2.

Not sure why you all would believe the OP when he's got no feedback and never spelled out the exact terms of the deal. For all we know the guy wasn't going to ship until he received the knife in the first place. He might not have been home on Friday or had to work the weekend. Plus, this time of year, lots of deliveries come up late.

The OP has plenty of feedback BS. It seems this is a trend with him however. There have been quite a few times he has started threads like this......check the links Cray posted.
