Hkwinger: This was your VERY FIRST transaction, here on BladeForums; a purchase for which you felt compelled to post a thread in the GBU, asking for help....& just as quickly, you now want to say that you are over it already. We're talking about a $900 knife!

You have all of 5 posts here, & one Ugly transaction to your name. You don't feel at least a little obligated to warn other's, about this member who deceitfully sold you a $900 knife represented as "Mint"? And then you end this, by telling us that you purchased a brand new same model knife for another wad of cash & gave this one to a friend...& your over it?

I still would like to know: Why didn't the seller ever respond to the original thread, started my Hkwinger?

BF Moderator's: If any of you feel, that this follow up thread I started is unnecessary, please give me the word, & I will close it up, or you can move it to the appropriate forum. I honestly feel, that the honest member's who use this forum, deserve answers.

Thank you!

I agree 100% Justified or not, I had the sneaking suspicion that we were being played by Hkwinger with his/her reluctance to name the "offending" seller. These sorts of things matter beyond the particular incidents being reported, especially given the volume that BF generates for both decent and not-so-decent sellers.

If you're going to complain about a deal gone bad, at least have the integrity to name the parties involved.

Kelama, I only see one post of his that says I'll take it for a knife that cost 950.00 is that the one? Go to his profile and check it out. If that ain't it idk.

Normally this kind of thing doesn't bug me very much but in this case it does. I read his original post and he mentioned that he wouldn't name names, but with some digging it could be found. I did some digging and couldn't find anything beyond the 5 posts that were there. Maybe it just bugs me that it's 2014 and I feel I should be able to find anything I want ;:p. Still the pictures that he showed, clearly showed scratches and dings on the blade. Financially he's gotta be doing OK if he can give a $900 knife to a friend and by another, which may explain why it doesn't bug him so much. All the same, I don't really want myself or others to get burned on the forums. This is an awesome place to learn and get great knife deals, but you can get burned and people who have, have been good about showing who burned them.

I'm unable to read anything; when I click on his profile & hit on the "View Forum Posts" option, is just states: "No matches found."

I'm assuming, that I have been place in his Ignore List?
Either way, I'm hoping that this new thread, will find out the truth.

I meant to say couldn't be found. My bad.

Update: nope, I gues I said it right, wish a good delet the post. Also, TY for the name compliment. Part of me worries it may be too inappropriate for the forums  But it's been my handle for so long I can't bare to change it.

Thank you, shinyedges, & gzb. I think I'm pretty much up to speed now.

I would like to make this perfectly clear: I'm not out to bash either guy, here. Maybe there just wasn't a clear meeting of the minds, on the specifics of this transaction. Without hearing both sides of this deal, there are still too many unanswered questions.

As a contributing member here (membership's/buying & selling), all I want is the opportunity to know as much information as possible, (regarding other member's) so I can educate myself, & be able to make informed intelligent decisions, on who I choose to deal with. The GBU, & Feedback, are 2 invaluable resources, that we have at our disposal...

However, with new member's joining, & scammer's re-creating themselves with new identities, (former troll knifein had 4 different identities) it's really difficult to know who you are dealing with all the time.

Gentlemen, We are not going to get into posting the profiles or sales of individuals who may not be involved in this. It does nothing but a disservice to persons unrelated to the problem. Now we see why it is important that you name the member if you start a thread in TGB&U about a problem member.
If the problem is bad enough for you to start a thread and it is bad enough to post your details of the problem, it is bad enough to name the member.

Right, and none of these posts are the one in which he made the sale. He mentions buying a mint knife after the fact. The one he buys is on the 28th after his original post and based on pictures is clearly in mint condition.

First and foremost just wanted to say HI to everyone. I've been here a few months and never did a proper introduction (being shy..lol) but I have been reading every post I can to educate myself on everything available here on BF. This really seems like an awesome group of people and I plan to be here for awhile...God willing. I have followed this post and the other post from the beginning. The post that Shinyedges is referring to has pictures of the new knife he bought. He did post a few pics of the knife he's having / had issues with and the blade clearly had scratches on it, from somewhere. Just wanted to chime in and also to say an overdue "hello to everyone".
Take care,
Donnie

Absolutely understood, Karda.

My hopes in re-starting Hkwinger's thread, wasn't to have someone else name the seller, rather for him (Hkwinger). to understand that BF is a tight knit community, & fore him to be more forthcoming regarding one of thee most important details of his negative transaction: the seller!

I just noticed that you posted a link in Hkwinger's initial thread. I think he now understands, why everyone was asking for him to be more forthcoming regarding the details of his negative transaction. I'll close this up, & leave it up to him (now that he has this newfound knowledge at his disposal), on how he want's to handle this.

Thanks, Karda.

Hi Donnie,
Welcome to BladeForums! FWIW- 99%+ of the member's here are really great people to deal with- it's that other -1% that you need keep informed about.
Best of luck, buddy!
