I bought a MT OTF from BF Member, jwh720. The knife looked brand new, and esthetically, was in much better condition than described. When I fired it for the first time, something just didn't feel right, compared to any of the other MT OTF knife I've fired before (there have been dozens). On the 4th attempt, the spring must've broke (?), because the lever just moved freely back and forth with no tension whatsoever.
I contacted Josh (the seller) and informed him of the issue. He was super cool about it (he felt pretty bad actually), & offered me an immediate refund, as well as any shipping costs that I may have to incur. I told him I'd rather keep it and would be contacting Microtech customer service.
So I called Microtech, and got the sweetest young lady on the other end, named Jessica. We had a pleasant conversation; she was very professional and very helpful. I followed her instructions & filled out MT online warranty form. A couple of days later, I received an RX # and shipped the knife back to them for repair. Three days later, I received an email notification from MT C.S., updating me that the knife had in fact arrived, and was in their possession. About 4 days later, I received another update, informing me that the knife had been repaired and was on the way back to me, along with the tracking number.
I had the package re-routed to a local UPS Store nearby and picked it up this past Thursday, after work (about a 2 1/2 week turn around). MT shipped my knife back in a new generic MT box, safely packed; & now this OTF is as good as new, & fires flawlessly.
It's these types of situations, where you truly learn the most about a member/seller/company, character.
Thanks Josh, & Microtech C.S. (Jessica)!
