I had a couple of knives listed for sale a short while ago. BF Member, xyclopx, purchased one of the knives that I had listed. We had a pretty lengthy back & forth conversation going, which in the end, went into 2 pages. Turns out, he's a super cool guy & lives up in the Central Cal area.

Move ahead about 3 or 4 days.....as I was getting all my surf gear loaded up this past Friday morning, one of those grey delivery Sprinter vans pulls up & this chick gets out and carries up this fairly big box, which made me convinced, that this wasn't a knife; I also didn't remember having anything scheduled to be delivered, so this kind of caught me off guard. I had to sign for this, so I was glad she caught me right before I headed out...

So I stuck the box inside my place, & then headed up to Oceanside to check the surf conditions on a newly emerging South swell hitting our Coast. Later in the day, when I got home, I opened up the box, & then it clicked that xyclopx (Dean), had sent this to me. :) Initially, I thought it was a bottle of wine, but upon closer inspection, I realized, that this was a super high quality custom Imperial Stout Brew (18.5% Alcohol by VOL) aged in Red Wine Barrels.

Personally, I really enjoy a nice hoppy IPA, & here in San Diego, there's plenty of breweries in my area, so occasionally, I can get out & sample some of the new brews being invented. I'm guessing the median price I pay for a 6 pack when I'm buying at a store, is around $15. This pint, was 3x that, o_O so I'm really looking forward to cracking the top on this one.

In case anyone here is interested, in any super high quality crafted brews, the name of this company is: The Bruery < They're located up in Orange County near Anaheim

Thanks again for such a super awesome kind gesture, Dean! This is the coolest, most thoughtful gesture, that I've been the recipient of, since I've been here. :thumbsup:

Nice! Black Tuesday is fairly obnoxious to get too, one of classic releases from the Bruery.

After my correspondence with Dean, it seems pretty clear, that you're familiar with them too. :)

Dean's exact word's:

"They make a lot of extreme beers, and many of them are only sold to "society members." I don't believe that one can be purchased without membership.

If you're ever in the Anaheim area, it's definitely worth a trip out to their tasting room. they've got a HUGE beer list."

I think that this Friday, is going to be THE day!

oh wow! how did you like it? that one has been aged in red wine barrels... do you think it picked up any wine character?

haha probably too many questions right now. i see you also got a bunch of other good drinks there too, so.... enjoy your buzz!!!

It was awesomely stout & packed a powerful punch...& it definitely had some wine character flavor to it.
Thanks again, for the coolest gesture I've experienced as a member here!
