Since this is suppose to be a survival knife and kit all in one and since this might be the only knife and kit a person carrys with them when out and about. The tactical look (ie Black and Green handles and Black and Green blade coatings ) is just that (tactical) Since Jeff and Mike are Survival Instructors they teach survival and the skills on how not to get yourself into a survival sitution. But if something does go wrong you have your survival knife and kit to help you get through the sitution. And having a
knife that you can see if set down or dropped you can see it easyer if it is not
so tactical. Having a brighter handle and non coated blade seems to me a better choice. The sheath could still be black or green but the contents in the knife pouch should be very visible ( ie yellow or orange whisle, maybe a easy to see fire starter like a fire steel with a bright handle on it and so on.)
I vote for the handle to be orange and the blade to be non coated and easy to reflect light with ( I WILL SHOW A PICTURE FOR THIS REASON LATER).
I have a few pics to show what a orange handle would look like in a black case and kit. and a few other orange handled knives and then the last pic is several knives that have a tactical handle. Compare them and see just how easy it is to see the orange handled knives vs the tactical handled knives.
This is just a thought, Jeff and Mike will make the final decision.
So here are the pics
Drop or set down your tactical knife in here and see how hard it would be to fine it
By looking at the 4 knives stuck in the tree one can see having a brighter handle sure makes it easyer to see than the not so bright handle knives.
One more pic of a couple of rats with different handles on them.
What can I say I like rats with brighter handles on them.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Take care all,
Bryan
