OK, I've complained quite a bit cause of the finish. Spend the afternoon with sandpaper up to 800 grit to get rid of most of the rough edges, then into the wheel to smoothen the appearance. Wonder if I need to treat the handle, it did look quite untreated. If somebody has a recommendation what to use please let me know.

Well balanced knife, very thin stock. Obviously it slices like there is no tomorrow. Used a bit on food prep and a little bit of cutting. Came quite sharp but I gave it a little bit more of an edge. The thin blade has to be cared for, don't drop it. Lost my tip like that. With a plier and some sandpaper a got it back to new.

The handle is very comfortable, fills the hand and over multiple positions. It is actually nicer to use than the NWA handle which needs a bit more flesh to be ideal. The semiguard protects the fingers and you can choke the knife carefully (don't cut your finger).

I might give it a tiny choil to separate the blade from the guard and make sharpening easier.

After seeing all of peoples user blades, I have to wonder; how do you pick what you want to take on a hike? :D

Looks good Bodhi:thumbup:

I'm looking forward to getting some back from Ken.

I thought the overall design especially the handle, as you mention was great.

I even have the scales ready to go on when I get them back!

IIRC there were two BF W&S Knives, actually three if you count Ironwolf's flat grind and Scandi grind knives separately. Both of my BF W&S knives (one from each) were flat ground and are good knives for field work.

IMO, the NWA knife is a great slicer, fit and finish were far better than the price point would indicate. Ironwolf's knife is rougher, but still a good knife with an excellent profile. I applied apple cider vinegar to mine and the patina went well with the knife's look. The handle is comfortable and fits me quite well; itsTung Oil finished handle should age quite well.

That BF W&S looks like it has great handle shape. I really like the shot with it in your hand - looks comfortable. More and more I'm starting to appreciate how great handle ergo's improve a knife's performance.

I've had my NWA knife on the counter of the shop since I've received it, and people are constantly coming in and fondling it, asking where I got it from and whether it was for sale. I can't wait to use it out in the woods. I haven't received the IronWolf knife yet, but I'm extremely impressed with the one I got from NWA.

Nice write up and pics. That wood handle looks great. I wish I could have gotten green Micarta on my Ironwolf to match my NWA. they make a nice pair for the field.

Great write up on the BF knives, I purchased a pair of NWA BF knives and I realy like the look & feel of the knife and can't wait to get out into the woods and try it out.

Nice to see some pics!!!
