As part of our 10 year anniversary celebration, & to help with our upcoming technology transition, we're going to start a membership drive with additional benefits.

Glad you asked. We're moving from our previous dual server setup to a new VMWare style IT over IP setup with better scalability, failover & resource allocation. That's a lot of technobabble to say we're getting bigger computer boxes, that are faster, and more reliable. This is good news, because we'll be able to increase resources dynamically now, and should see faster response time across the site as a whole. We're even working on search issues! :D

Of course, this costs money, so I'm hoping you guys as a community will help contribute to making sure this site sticks around. In order to sweeten the pot:

Gold members & higher: Giveaways are going to come back shortly. We have knives in house from Kershaw, Spyderco, HI, Swamp Rat and others!

Knifemakers: Individual Knifemaker's forums are now going to be free provided you commit to a 3+ year Knifemaker's membership. We're going to have lots more resources, so there's no reason not to have your own forum here on the busiest knife site online. Sign up for 3 years of knifemakers & send me a PM, we'll get you activated.

Dealers: Dealer memberships are now lower! We've slashed prices on dealer memberships from $800 a year to $200, and the "try it" monthly memberships to $75.
 
Kevin, even though I am not a knife dealer, I have been selling a bunch of G-10 scrap to knife makers. I don't make much when time & freight is figured, but I would like to anti up for a Dealer membership, if you can qualify a supplier as a dealer.
Let me know, congrats on the upgrade, I am looking forward to it.

Count me in for a couple of knives Spark. I've had some family illness as well as a few issues of my own, but I am finally coming back.

We're bringing back knife giveaways. People who support this site will be eligible for the drawings.
 
Spark, where do I go to sign up as a dealer? Are all the dealers posting together in the three dealer forums or is there the possibility of dealer forums?
 
If you've got some friends ... some knife knut friends ... who are having a bit of a hard time in this economy ... why not gift them a gold or platinum membership?

You support Spark and the Site and put a smile one someone's face at the same time.

For more fun -- don't tell them who did it. :D

Permanent. Your existing membership has been prorated for an additional year since it hadn't run out yet.

It's available under the User CP -> Paid Subscriptions, or click the "Upgrade" link at the top.

Individual dealer forums may be available later per dealer request.
