BG 42 and Vg 10 Differences

Do you all think that the only difference between these two steels is that BG 42 has more vanadium in it than VG 10? I believe it is as VG 10 takes a killer edge with ease and BG 42 may take a little longer. Any opinions or thought would be great.

No, BG42 has higher carbon, higher V,higher Mo but lower Co. The VG-10 vanadium is at a level only for finer grain.BG42 will have higher wear resistance...It's great that we have such fine steels to choose from.
