Guys,

Just giving you Buck enthusiast and collectors a heads up on our BG-42 & D2.
We just ran the last of the BG-42 steel through the shop for a small 110 project. There are no plans to ever run it again.
Next on the list to go is D2. Some of you have already found the BG-42 project, keep an eye open for the D2 project in the coming months.

Regards,

Hengem

hengem - Thank you very much for the heads up. It is greatly appreciated here in the Buck forum.

I know we all would like to see more interaction with a Buck employee or two on a continuing basis.

Nice to know what is coming up.

Thanks again

Absolutely…thanks for the heads up!

I completely agree with James…good to see people here from Buck. Thanks!

No problem guys! Look forward to sharing more with you in the future.

So this means no more knives in any model with BG42?

But I'm assuming there will still be S30v, or perhaps other steels, down the road, in use then? A 301 in S30v would really please me. ;) Already pretty nice in BG42 though.

Joe58,

You are correct, no more BG-42 in any model.
S30V is still alive and well. We have been doing some projects lately with S35VN and Hopefully some RWL-34 and S110V down the road.

I bought one of the 110 project knifves with the BG-42 drop point blades. Please give us a "heads up" when the D2 project comes out. (I collect 110s so I really hope it will be offered in the 110 platform.)

Don't know if this is allowable, but where are these available? I tried Buck but the person on line, Sarah said no such thing ever happened. In the corp world they will have to have meeting to set up a meeting to resolve this.

Do a search on the big auction site.

Dang it - If you wouldn't have posted that, my curiosity wouldn't have been piqued enough to go look, and then I wouldn't have ordered one. Pox on you enablers!

Ok, now I'm excited!

Hi Trevorklat. I was hoping to find a post just like yours. We are in the final stages of our next knife project, and wouldn't you know it, it's in the infamous D2 that this post is referring to. I have a few pictures of the sample, but probably won't post those yet. We are doing a Buck 110 with Nickel/Silver bolsters, Cocobolo Inlay and D2 Steel with a flat grind on a clip point blade. A distressed brown leather sheath comes with it as well. We are stoked about releasing it soon!

Wish it was drop point, but still something that'll be hard to pass up.

Glad to hear that. I love my s30v Buck.

You got me for four of the BG-42 110s you offered.
This new offering should have at least a couple that end up here in Florida.
The new one sounds like at least one will make it into my edc rotation. I especially like the sounds of NS, Cocobolo, D2 and flat grind.

I appreciate that you are offering some desirable 110s.:thumbup:

VTer. We initially thought this was going to be a drop point knife and had both a drop point and clip point sample made up. After looking at the 2 side by side, it was clear the Cocobolo was complimented by a clip point. I don't know how to explain it. We just looked at it and knew. I'm a stickler for a knife "making sense". If that makes any sense!! Ha!

Stumps! Thanks so much for getting your hands on 4 of the BG-42s. We really appreciate it! I can tell you love 110s. I'd love your feedback if you get a moment. What do you think about the following options on a 110?

Finger Grooves
G10 Scales
Belt clip on the knife itself

Thanks again! And anyone that wants to pipe in, we'd love to hear it.
