Most do not have a date stamped on the inside of the scales. If its a reg. It should also have milling on the side of the scales. Not the face of the scale, but the sides?

Show us a picture it you can. :cool:

I've had a few w/ date stamps in the handles I think, and I know I've had a few without the milling. Come to think of it, I got a brand new in the box S30V Seb once that had the milled handles!
Another good way to check...look under the washer. There should be no stamp to indicate the steel. I've never had a BG42 Seb that had a blade stamp, but all the S30V Sebs I've had some form of stamp.
