What Can anyone tell about these two steels. Toughness? Edge retention? Ease of resharpening? Any Help would be appreciated!

BG-42 vs ZDP?

Both are really good steels. zdp seems to have the edge in hardness and ease of sharpening, both wear well. Of the few knives I've owned in them, my favorite is zdp-189 with M2 running a close second and BG-42 running a close third. After those, D2 and some of the non-stainless carbon steels.
