BG AD just arrived

I did with this one...used w/stones up to 6000. It's ready for duty, well kitchen duty. Only chance to use it was on some dinner so far. Bought it to beat the snot out of.... at that price it's your duty.

How come new knives are sharpened? Just curious. And also how are new knives sharpened. I am new and it it would be great if some one could point me in the right direction.

Some people prefer a more "slicey" edge than the more obtuse edge that most Busse knives come from the factory with. Many different ways to get the desired result; mousepad and sandpaper, wicked edge, lansky, edgepro, kme, water stones, worksharp, paper wheels, belt sander, etc.

Do some searches on sharpening. There is a wealth of info on that here at BF. ;)

Nice score, my bruiser should look good when it arrives!

I know I'm late, but congrats on that beautiful blade! I'm kind of new here so I don't know what the name for it is, what does AD mean? I know BG is battle grade, but so many names is hard to remember some, and this one I have never seen before, it sure looks nice all blacked out.

Never mind, I just found the name in another thread= Active Duty, nice!!

Coating color?

Well, a beautiful Black Bruiser BGAD was waiting for me when I got home! :D Sadly we are in a power outage with heavy winds so I can't take pics in the dark. :( Just using the battery backup for satellite internet before hitting the rack.
