BG FSH Fat or Thin ? & Why ?

Every BG blade offered in thick or thin will get a 0.22" thick "medium" satin LE version next, right?

I would take everything offered in 6-9" in 7/32 stock. Perfect for that size. Stays light and nimble, but enough heft to chop a little bit. As far as prying, I really have no need for that.

Yep, I think it's perfect on my B8 and BGHR, and they'll be joined by the BGBJ soon enough

I have plenty of .187" & .250" too though, don't get me wrong ;)

On the BG FSH, I probably would have gone thick, but already had that size pretty well covered and couldn't pull the trigger myself.

I went 3/16" but would have gone with something intermediate had it been offered (e.g., .22" or .25"). 5/16" will feel great in hand but is pretty beefy for an 8" knife. I thought the NMFSH was a little too thick for its length, so decided to go thin on this one.

Thin. It's the only FSH ever offered that way. ;)

Thick.. the FSH is just a design that screams heavy use...when I see the FSH..I picture heavy batoning or prying open a car door.. imho
this is also the exact size range where a stout heavy gauge steel makes the most sense to me.. small knives are limited to small tasks so a thinner steel makes more sense.
a real long 11"+ sized blade gets real slow and heavy if its real thick...this is where 1/4" is perfect imho..but mid range is perfect for prying and can use the extra weight when ya need it to chop..so thick is good!!
This ^^^^
for me, having a thin blade on a knife like this is like putting skinny tires on a corvette.

OP: it would be used for general wood prep, some chopping, battoning, Camping chores, paired with a smaller blade.
Go thick you're gonna love it.
