When your current knife budget is near zero, it's nice when that special someone remembers that you have certain needs and surprises you with something sharp. Check out this pretty little knife from my pretty little wife.
This is the Bushbaby from Blind Horse Knives. It's about 6 1/2" overall, with about a 3" cutting edge. The scales are in their trademark fiddleback maple and the blade steel is 4140 saw blade steel about 1/8" thick. The blade came with a dark coating, but I gave both the steel and scales an 800 grit hand sanding. The result was an antiqued finish on the blade and a satin feel to the scales that I really like.
The knife came with a nice quality sheath including a D-ring attatchment and ferro rod loop. I'll be using a tine from this found shed to make a companion firesteel for this knife. The family photo shows the Bushbaby with the Bushcrafter and Patch Knife. Makes a nice set don't you think?
