BHK bushcrafter edge

My vote is for Full Flat Grind, convex edge.

Whatever it is don't waste it by making the edge super thick, BHK's sawblade steel can take a fine edge with how tough it is. All time favorite steel and HT. It's soft according to the RC scale but you better believe that it'll hold an edge, and it's so quick to resharpen.

Such a awesome knife for the price it shows that great products can be made in America and not have to cost 600 bucks like some knife companies I won't get into

Yes they are ! Here are a few of my BHK users.

That's some of the finest tiger maple you will ever see. BHK sourced it from a Kentucky Long Rifle gunstock maker, but I don't know how much wood they have left. All their bushcrafter knives used to come with it, but it is a finite resource.

Here's my take on Scandi v. convex.

If you plan on cutting & chopping a lot of things and batoning with the knife, get the convex, but if you plan to do a lot of carving and or trap-making, get the Scandi. -Not that you'd actually notice much difference. Since it seems like you are new to knife sharpening, get the convex for this knife, as it is much more forgiving if you make a mistake. Also, these blades tend to be thin so I don't think Scandi edges are as strong (but you'll have to really want to damage the knife before it will fail.)

BTW, I own 5 BHK knives.

I'm jealous of you all. I really need to pick up a bushcrafter or something one of these days. I've been eyeing them for nearly a year and still haven't pulled the trigger for some reason...

They are worth it. The price on them is pretty good but it has been going up.

Mine were $100 for the Bushcrafter and $90 for the Bushbaby.

The sheaths are awesome ... JRE makes them pretty sweet. Super thick leather.

The bonus is that the guys that make them are really good people.

Ya from what I've heard both the knives and sheaths are awesome values. I'll be ordering one soon!

Green micarta will be fine if they don't have maple, I feel micarta is the ideal handle material for a lot of reasons

I just ordered a BushCrafter and was wondering about the different grinds. After reading the posts, I think I'll stick with the flat grind.

Well I ordered mine early december in flat grind with the convex edge which is standard but I did get it with custom red liners
