bhk pathfinder

Things are getting moved because those threads are general questions that would be better suited in other forums. They do not offer any insight as to how the item may work or be used in a W&SS situation. Most threads on gear stay because of the nature and context in which it is posted is directly related to W&SS.

Threads which get moved generally start and end with "What do you think of this? or "Recommend me blah, blah, blah?" and that's it....nothing afterwards regarding W&SS.

I honestly can't believe I'm going over this once AGAIN. There is a thread on it in W&SS that should be stickied.

I suspect anything Dave Canterberry/Pathfinder-related will be inflated for awhile now that he's on TV.

Too bad...I liked his site and wares better before it became so commercialized. He used to sell some decent "common mans" gear on his site and now all they have are PF t-shirts. :jerkit:

But hey, if Bear Grylls's maker can charge $700 for his knife, it's not unreasonable for BHK to ask $300 for Dave's. I'd still never buy either of them though.[/QU

dave still sells all his common mans stuff but it all move to canteen shop .coms web site, due to contractual obligations with discovery.

Like the BHK knife better than the more military styled one below but agree, for Corby bolts and 1095 with Kydex the price looks steep for me even if it is handmade.

I guess Canterbury has a custom knife offering from one company and a production knife from another. Hope his show goes well and he get's a little play money revenue stream from his cut. Lundin needs to get in on the endorsement deals, guess a line of "Lundin" boots would be out though.

Isn't there any conflict between the two knife companies?

I also like the new Dave Canterbury/ Pathfinder survival school colab knife with TOPS :

If they were still selling the Pathfinder knife at $130 that is all BHK would be making & they'd probably be backordered. Not sure if there are royalties to pay now, but that could be a factor. It's not like they raised the price on all their knives.

The Pathfinder 2 is now being made, it's a smaller version of the Pathfinder !

all that being said we had to know it was gonna haappen when he went to the big time!! I still respect Dave and his ideals, but yes, the BHK PF should still be a good fit for anyone wanting to stick with the BHK price structure.. not 300 bucks... I would stand behind any of the BHK knives, love all of mine, quality and fit and finish.. but lets be honest, the price was a real attractive ice breaker for all intensive purposes; thats what we got used to!!!

and thats not to say Dave didnt pay his dues either.. if it is simply because of the show that the price went up... The BHK crew does have to make a living too!
