Bicycle riders - which one do you have and do you like it?

Andy, get your wheels hand built by Merlin Cycles in the UK, they are absolutely bomb proof. I'm 15.5 stone and ride rough, they have stayed true from day one. The ability to take a disk is dictated by the Hub. You can order whatever you need in a lot of combinations.

I was thinking of a company that now makes a wheel set for people who want to use their MTB for a going to work as well as the rough stuff. I don't have the moeny to pay anyone to build things up for me. Also I'm only 9.5stones so tend to build things up a bit lighter.

Being a fairly avid road cyclist, my vote goes for a cyclocross bike. In my mind they are the perfect trade off. Still agile and with a position I prefer, but rugged enough to take a decent amount of abuse.

I bought a mtn bike a number of years ago with the idea that i would save my road bike some of its tougher around campus communting miles. It has cobwebs on it. Instead, I just had my steel frame repainted when it got a bit dinged up.

Of course riding road bikes is what I enjoy, so that is the slant I am coming from...
