For sale, Alcebiades Bide Sorocabana dirk in the traditional style. This is unique, interesting knife was brought to our attention by Ivan Campos nearly three years ago. Sr. Bide who lived in Brazil was nearly 80-years old when he received our orders and he was making knives for nearly 60-years at the time.

The dirk’s blade is about 9” long, steel is forged 1095 from plow share disks and forge welded & pinned into thehandle which is made of 1045. The handle is horn and the enterco is adorned with gold stripes as ornamentation which is different with each knife he made. The knife is made completely by hand and though not flawless since it is basically a neolithic knife (Ivan correct me if I am wrong) it’s design and function is nearly flawless. The sheath is also handmade by a leather worker. More info and better pictures of this style of knife (the knife in the link isn't mine, my knife is posted here) look: HERE

Never used, carried or sharpened. Knife is no longer available No trades. Email for info. I take Pay Pal or MO. Must be >18 to buy from me.

I have one of these. I remember showing it to a MS and him remarking that no way could he make that work for the price. These are great blades for the money. Good luck and congrats to whomever picks it up. ;)

I got one when Ivan convinced Sr. Bide to make them. Mine is a very good blade by an experienced smith. The birdshead handle locks the knife into the hand.

This is a traditional blade, for those that value such things.
