Thanks for the chance on this one, congrats afishunter... nice knife.

btw Al, great web-site.

This give away was just meant to be......

First off my mom picks the knife up at a garage sale in Kansas for $1.00 -

I go to Kansas last month for her 90th birthday party and she gives me the knife. (She knows I'm a complete knife nut.)

Her is a photo of her with her Great Grand Kids - not Grand Kids - but Great Grand Kids.....:D
(it was just quick cell phone shot - little burgers don't stay still.)

And a shot with me and my mom - she 90 years old and still drives....:)

Now the knife was in bad shape - some non knife person had it. Never cleaned it or oiled it.:(

So I'm like I'll give it away and let someone clean it up and enjoy it.

So I do the give away and at midnight last night I have my good friend (Tim) in North East Pennsylvania, ask his lovely wife (Gwen) to pick a number between 2 & 41.
Well Tim doesn't want her to pick an odd number that was not an entry, so he cuts up scraps of paper and numbers those.
Then he tells Gwen to pick one of those out of a hat. And it's number 17 and Gwen says that was the number I was going to pick just out of my head.
So anyway I'm talking to Tim getting ready to get the number and I'm on the thread and scroll to middle of the page.
Two seconds later says the number is.... 17. I'm looking right at post 17 where I had stopped when scrolling.
Freaky stuff - like it was just meant to be.

And afishhunter has in his post, that he knows a young man that is scout age that would love the knife.
An of course it's scout knife.

Well after all this - I said I need to clean this up a bit for the kid, because he may not have all the metal cleaner and stuff I do.
And of course after that I had to throw in a good sheath for him and I tied on a nice pig skin fob.....:D:thumbup:

I'll still send some pink polish paper, that he can keep polishing the knife with.
But I think he's going to really like this little beauty.

Thank you all for everything you do here, I get so much pleasure from being a member of this forum.
Not just seeing the knives, but from all the stories and extra photos from around the world.
You all rock! keep it up my friends - THANKS!

I'm speachless. It looks new. The pouch looks fantastic. The young man in question is my nephew and God Son, Jason. He is going to flip when I give him this.

Thank you again, Al, this is much more than I expected. God bless you and yours.

Everything Tim has told me about you rings true Al. What a wonderful gift for a boy I'm sure will always appreciate and remember it.
