I've not been on here for a while....I've been busy in the workshop with a few projects, including this one.

It's not actually finished yet, as the handle needs a tweak here and there, the final polish hasn't been done, it's not sharpened yet and it has no sheath........other than that it's nearly there!

Blade is 8" 1095, flat ground, 13" overall. Handle is black canvas Micarta with dark red fibre liners. Fittings are 303 stainless...all typical me really!;):D

As always, thanks for taking time to look.:)

I think the blade is a bit too narrow for that size of handle, but it looks great otherwise. I'm loving the polish.

Thank you.:)

The blade does look a bit narrow in my poor photos...it is actually 1 1/4" wide. This photo shows it a bit better....shame about the reflections.

David, the guard is soldered....my milling skills aren't quite up to dry fitted guards yet.:D

Cheers,

Cheers mate.:)

If I was capable of taking a decent picture you'd actually be able to see them a bit better....they are in fact a lot more 'red' in real life believe it or not!

Ian, if you can make a knife like that, I'm pretty sure you can learn to use a camera. Definitely a less dangerous device than a buffer.

I guess you've got a point there Lorien.....I guess the difference is that a grinder only has two buttons, on and off, my camera has lots of buttons....and worse still, an instruction book as thick as War and Peace:eek:

I really struggle with things that don't interest me and photography is one of them.

As my school reports always used to say 'Must try harder'.:D

Ian

Mr Bump, thank you very much.

Reading positive comments from makers such as yourself mean more to me than you can imagine.

Cheers:thumbup::thumbup:

You're not kidding!

By far the hardest grind I've ever done and the clean-up of the sub-hilt and guard isn't a five minute job either.....

I was going to start by doing a NYS, then moving onto a Hideout before I tackled the Big Bear...then a certain member of this forum said he'd like me to make him a Big Bear, so I gave it a go...Cheers Rick!;)

Hard work, but it's definitely my favourite out of all the knives I've ever made.

Mustn't forget to mention the fact that I've had some very generous help regarding all things Loveless from a couple of people on here as well....you know who you are....and I appreciate it very much.;)
