Big Becker Bushcrafter

Blasphemy! :D

Fantastic, Tradewater.
Bushcrafter it may be but the sheer stabbiness makes me think "tactical" in the genuinely military sense.
Pig-sticker indeed.

I love the way this turned out, too. I can't see myself modifying a 10 to do it, but hats off to you (and the black and tans) for making this happen.

That looks awesome tw. Really nice work. You put a spit shine on that micarta.

Now that is seriously drool-worthy, Trade. Man, that thing turned out nice.

BTW, how did you polish up that micarta? I like the way it looks.

Thank you sir. I know it was a weird thing to do, but I really like the way it handles and cuts now. I made the last couple on inches "baton and thumb" friendly, and sharpened the middle of the spine for sparky. I need to clean up the micarta some more though. It had some really deep gouges in it from the factory. If you sand them well a couple of coats of Tru-oil really makes them pop.

Man that looks perfect. The more I look at it, the more I want one.
As a side note, I feel the 10 itself would be perfect, if it had no thumb ramp, and was 1/4" thick :D
Edit: The 10 needs a drop point too.

Really awesome stuff Trade, about the best thing to ever result from getting a little inebriated and then let loose on a grinder :D

I noticed the spine work you did on it. It was a nice touch.

Thanks for the tips on the micarta. I'm going to try that out on a couple of knives.

That really turned out great. A bushcrafter that you can truly beat on and even use to pry and it looks like you kept most of the length of the 10 too. Nice job!

Sweet Jesus.
That looks great.

Did you put a secondary edge on it or is it a complete convex?

can't help you with the 1/4" thick thing -- my grinder doesn't have the reverse "add metal" switch.
but... subtle drop point, rampless, micarta added...

Trade,

that turned out as one cool knife! Like the rounded spine. How do the handles perform with smaller cutting chores?

btw you should send your pics to kabar and MAKE them make that design.
