These photos show both sides of the blocks wiped with a light surface coat of Minwax "Wipe on Poly" to give a better idea how they will look finished without adding moisture to the wood.

When you see blocks you want, just post "I'll take #s ...." and I will mark them sold for you. US shipping is $2.50 each or $10 for as many will fit in a flat rate box.

I was going to make a box with this but I better finish some of my other projects before I take on another one. You should be able to get several handle blocks from this piece. There are a couple shallow surface checks on the backside. Measurements are taken from the side with the smallest face.

Oregon black oak burl is very unusual oak. This type oak does not have all the open pores like you usually see with oak. With burl the grain looks like piles of spaghetti. When you fine sand this other colors appear as well as very chatoyant figuring. There will be some voids and bark pockets. It is up to you whether to fill them.
