I took the wife to the range to play around with the big boys last night. She handled them quite well. I was proud. Hope this is the proper place for this post.
.44 mag and s&w 500 .50 cal

A snubby 500... Ok. Betcha cant scream "LOOK AT ME AND MUH GUN!" any louder than that. Probably scares the shit out of those paper targets, too.

I love guns, but I was thinking the same thing, how well do these knives cut? Then I realized you just have to lay down a series of shots in a line, big 'old holes in this case, to cut.

A package came last night that I haven't opened yet--hold my beer, I'm going to cut it open with my long barreled .44 mag "do you feel lucky" toy . . . ;)

My gun only has one shot. Takes about twenty minutes to reload.

Well the snubby won't be worth a darn spreading peanut butter. I don't think either one would do any good cleaning a fish either.

:) At least that snubby is ported . Helps some . If you don't know how to handle these big guns they can bash your face in ! They are as easy to carry as a boat anchor .:D

I've fired a few of these monsters , but never owned one :(. The .357 seemed like enough for a sidearm .

I have a few friends turning 50 this year. I figured it would be a great piece to play with when we get together to shoot. I'm new to the forum and stated that I wasn't sure where to post it. If you can't keep it away from your forehead you should probably stick to your wife's .380. Tough crowd. Good thing I have the .50

:) Welcome Copper ! Yes this can be a  "tough crowd " but mostly it's not really personal . For gun and tactical stuff ,you might actually feel more at home in the sub forum "Practical Tactical ":p or this one we're on now . Stay outta "Whine and Cheese " :poop: for sure !

You're fine. Unfortunately, we have a too many folks here determined to act like clowns instead of simply helping out someone relatively new to the site.

I love all things of metal. My X frame experience has been wonderful, its truly remarkable to go from what feels like a rimfire pop to a fire breathing sledgehammer launch in the space of a cylinder pawl. Very versatile... But dont ignore the muzzle brake, they fkn mean it when they designate the one for jacketed bullets only.. it flings clouds of shredded lead when you forget...

Making multiple ICP references is a bannable offense. :D

I've been wanting a revolver for a very long time. I wanted a Taurus Tracker in .357, but my wife got me the .44 with the 4" ported barrel... I absolutely love it. What's funnier is she loves it. She went through almost 50 rounds with it when we went a couple weeks ago. I don't feel it's deserving of the recoil hype. Now I shot a .460 a few years ago... That was brutal

I had a Taurus in .454 Casull. It had a double lockup on the cylinder. I ended up selling it. The novelty wore off in a few years.

Have you guys seen the 45/70 Derringer before ?
From what I can tell in the videos, it's recoil makes the S&W 500 seem like a .357.

Back in the 70's , I carried a Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 spl while working as a security guard (as backup) and when taxi driving . I fired that thing only enough to be sure I could hit a close target in SD . Not my idea of a fun gun , but it was cheap .
