2005 was a hell of a year!

Some mighty good folks passed...

...and some little babies have come to join us....

A lot of makers pushed the envelope...

...further than it has ever been stretched.

One guy,though, made us all wonder....

I guess you could say he just wouldn't quit....

He makes a damn fine knife...and he also makes a tasty 'hawk to boot!

Therefore, I nominate Ray Richard for the 2005 Big Brass Nuts Award!

Ray lost everything in a fire...and now a few months down the road...he is back at it...doing it his way...and teaching others how as well!

Ray is definitely one of my knife maker heroes....

Ray had some bad times, but in spite of it, he never lost the "Want-to" of making knives. Gotta hand it to him......Ain't many that could go through what he did, and still "Hang-in-there..........

My vote goes to Ray-man..........:thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:
 
Boy, that is a tough one. If I were self serving, I would give it to myself. I had one hell of a year. Ray, I figure, has the nuts, to rebuid and do it again. He has shown us that. So he probably doesn't need another set. As tough a year as it has been for so many, I think we should all get a new set of brass nuts.

Yeah, Ray is the man.

You know he has big brassy yar-blockos because he took a huge kick to the nuts this year and got right back on his feet with two fists in the air. Ray is so tough, he'd eat the boogers out of a dead dog's nose, and ask for seconds! Ray is so tough, he dares to forge hawks over at IG's in a pair of sandals! Crap... just going to IG's is a test of courage! If anyone can make it past the relish and tequila you are golden. :D
