Here's my latest machete design.. basically a really big knife.. 
It's made from 15n20 (high nickle 1084ish steel).. which will resist staining a bit more than usual..
It's .095" thick, which I think is about perfect for a machete.. sails through inch thick branches without really any difficulty..
Blade is full convex, with a convex and polished shaving sharp edge.
The handle is some nice micarta, the center pin was peened in hot, so there's a little discoloration around it.. but no big deal..
Believe it or not, I don't have any measuring device on me, so the blade is right around 14" with 4.5" of handle. The blades about 2.5" thick at its widest..
