Big Camp Chicken Soup!

Delicious looking! I make homemade chicken and noodles with noodles from scratch. I've never tried making soup though. I'm going to have to try.

I have to agree I've never seen whole canned chicken, I also need to google Vegemite.

Meal well done, and nice spoon!

Wow that looks like an amazing chicken soup!

It took me a while to accept the concept of a canned chicken, but I now vaguely remember them from my youth, oh so long ago!
My family was in the wholesale grocery business when freezing and refrigeration were not so sophisticated! I actually remember the ice man!
Anyway, preserved chicken was more useful 70 and more years ago.

This is better than Julia Childs! Great looking soup!

Yumm!!! Now that did look delicious Charlie!

Canned Chicken - mmmmmm now that one make me think as well- never seen it!

That looks great Charlie!

I too was skeptical about the canned chicken but it looks like it worked just fine. Soup is probably the best option for it. I dunno how it would hold up to grilling :D

That turmeric patina is interesting. That stuff will "anodize" just about anything... skin, clothes, just about anything it touches.

But canned chicken....er I struggle with the concept & the reality:eek:

I wonder if they'll get round to Canned Turkey next ;) Or why not Whole Hog or Canned Cow?:D:D Surreal....:barf::D:thumbup:

Canned cow and hog/pig are common.
The food banks hand out Gov. Surplus canned beef and pork all the time.
Not to mention the Canned "Cornbeef" and "corned beef hash" that is on the grocer's shelves. The canned whole chicken is usually in the same area.
I usually see them near the over-cooked canned "tuna".

To keep this post knife related, I always use my Scout, "Demo" knife, or a SAK can opener blade to open my cans of food. :)

EDIT:
I almost forgot. Charlie, you need to change the "http" in your link to "https" so we are not signed out when we click on it. :)

I'll try that. . . . . .or get help with it!

This Thread was an eye opener foe me- NEVER would I have believed there was such a thing as Canned Chicken - Whole!!
And I also didnt Know there were people brave enough to eat it!

These Texas Camp Knives are un-be-lievable!! I asked Bill when I was talking to him - if he actually went out and took more time to perfect even more-so the usual standards of GEC when they produced the big Texas Camp Knife - because in all honesty- the Texas is Custom Quality.
Bill said no- it was "just" another GEC run!- Amazing Knife! Evey Tool- blade on this thing is finished beautifully and sharper than most Factory Blades I have come across!

I agree with you 100% Duncan. Bill did an astounding job on the Big Camp! There are a lot of details and edges on that knife and the cutlers in T'ville aced every one of them!!
Bill always wanted to make a Big Camp Knife, and we are lucky it fit into his schedule. I think we talked about it for two years - at least!!

Well Charlie- thank you for doing so with Bill because the outcome of those talks is one of the best Camp knives that exist from modern manufacturing.

I still kick myself for deciding to pass on the Texas Camp Knife. :(
