Hi everyone, here's a big chopper / camp sword that I have finally finished after a long time of working on it.
This is a really really nice chopper. It feels fairly fast in the hand but has some major power behind it. I am really happy with how this one turned out, it's a beast!
Specs:
Steel: 1/4" 5160 heat treated by Darrin Sanders to 56-57 Rc for toughness. Scotchbrite belt finish, Full Flat Grind
Handle: OD Green Canvas Micarta sanded to a low grit for grip
Stainless tube hardware
Convex edge
The edge is thinner towards the ricasso for fine cutting
Balance point is right where the plunges are
All edges(spine, guard, etc) are rounded.
16" OAL, 9.5" cutting length
Price is $340$320 shipped CONUS. I take Paypal, USPS MO and cashiers check. First firm "I'll take it" gets it. Backed by a lifetime common sense warranty with free sharpening. I am not set up to make sheaths big enough for this but I can send the knife directly to a sheathmaker if you make arrangements.
